I think the price you have been given is too high. I can get a scan to produce about 80mb from a 4x5 QL Velvia for £15 from my local Pro Lab. Better still get an Epson V750 PRO for about £500 and do it all yourself. In the end it is worth the outlay.

Went to see the exhibition on the 24th June. I was very impressed with the pictures. I Had seen some of his previous work in the National Trust Coastline exhibition which was in Greenwich about 2 years ago and I also have a couple of his books. He has a great eye for composition which is the thing t...

Joe Cornish Exhibition

Just noticed from the L &L site that an exhibition of the work of Joe Cornish will open in London on the 29th May and runs until the 11th July. It will be at the Hoopers Gallery i Clerkenwell Close. I will certainly be going.

I went to see the exhibition in Oxford last Saturday. It was very enjoyable. I have no doubt that they are original photographic prints.

Hi Bob

Like the photos and found the project very interesting to look at. I don't know your part of the world. What does the new bridge span?

Scanning

Some of you with long memories may recall that I posted details of my purchase of a drum scanner with the idea of making it available for others to use. First however it was necessary to get the thing up and running and to see what results were possible. Sadly the project has never overcome this fir...

Landscape Beyond

On Saturday (26th) I went to see the Anna Booth & David Ward exhibition at the Oxo gallery in London. It finishes today so anyone wanting to visit will have to be quick. I thought it very good. I also had a talk with David Ward and found him a very interesting person. I did read his book "Landscape ...

I only have Safari on my Mac but the OS is the new X.5.1. While it ran OK it was not at full screen but good enough to watch. I agree the chap came over a bit pompus, but I suspect that he was asked to make it all sound a but special for the film. I aso agree that the Bristol shot was the better of ...

Hi Marc
I think the site looks good. You could add a little more detail of where the shots were taken. I am still trying to set up a site so am not really qualified to make any further comment except to say - well done.

People may be interested to know that Lee Filters will make Grads to specific requirements. I sometimes have a problem with the Wista and the 90 mm lens because you cannot drop the filter far enough down because it hits the base (if you understand). I spoke to Lee about this and they said that the p...
