Chipper here! Well what can I say. Ian has created an individual profile for my Imacon scanner, so that now I can simply scan my transparencies, and within 2 clicks of the mouse in PS have on screen (which he calibrated) perfect colour rendition of my tranny. I have to say I was somewhat sceptical o...

WTB: Imacon Flextight Precision III 6X17 Holder.

Having very recently purchased a Shen Hao 617 Back for my 5x4 (It was Paul O's fault, he made me buy it!), I am in need of a 6x17 holder for the above Imacon scanner. I can get one from Bodoni for £103.50 plus p&p, but thought i'd try here first, hoping someone either owns or knows someone who owns ...

Paul, thank you very much. I have just snapped it up. All I have to do now is pick my moment to tell the wife! Wish me luck.

6x17

I am actually looking for a 6x17 back if anyone is looking to part with one. I am increasingly becoming more interested in the panoramic side of things, and have a hell of a lot of '120' velvia to get through in the fridge/freezer!

Regardless of the fact that I actually know Ian, he has scanned a great many of my 4x5 and 6x7 transparencies over the last 6 months or so, and the results have simply blown me away. The sharpness, shadow detail and colour accuracy are all superb. His knowledge and understanding of colour management...

Hi Tim

Great site, and some fine images. I have spent some time in your old style website and read your blog etc, and I do prefer your new style. You may want to pop back in and look at the spelling of subdivision.

Hi Paul I have to say that i've bought 3 LF lenses on ebay, and 6 or 7 35mm and medium format cameras and lenses, and never had a problem. I shudder to think what i'd have paid for all of those new. I must admit I would have been put off at the start from reading the seller's description of the lens...

Yep, in a nutshell. I seem to remember someone else here with pretty much the same opinion. You really just need the fluid, sheets of mylar, 3M (as in the brand name) tape, white spirit for cleaning your ANR glass, cotton gloves for handling the film, and some cloths for drying the ANR glass after y...

Hi Jon

www.haynes-graphic-arts.co.uk

They sell Kami fluid, which works well, and dries leaving virtually no marks on the transparency. They also sell a kit with cotton gloves, and other bits and pieces, but not worth the money for me, and not the best quality.

I was initially against throwing any more money at my V750, but did actually go ahead and buy Doug's new work station. I had used the ScanScience kit prior to that, but Doug's unit is better all round, in the ease of fine tuning the height adjustment for optimum focus, and also the physical process ...

I have the MF Holder from Doug Fisher (Better Scanning), and it is pretty good. I took the old Pentax to Turkey last week (bloody hot!), and i'm waiting for the processed trannies back from Peak Imaging. I don't use the t bars that come with the kit, as I also bought the anti-newton glass strip. I m...

Keith...I thought 120/220 was roll film. If you take a look on the 'morco' website, you too will clearly see that the tri-x is available in 5x4 sheet film.

Hi Matt

If you 'google' kodak tx film, you will see a website about 4 or 5 down from the top (morco). They look as if they stock it for large format.
