Thanks George. I've just got a couple of packs of Centennial Print Out Paper to make some prints (much nicer than scanning negs). First results are stunning. I attempted to scan one of the prints, hoping the image would not darken too much. OOPS! I think it's time to look at toning and fixing the im...

I've come across quite a few software tools that have great performance but also have a dreadful user experience. Some user interfaces are truly dreadful. Occasionally you do find great performance combined with user friendly interface design - I'm a mac user, so I may have been spoiled a bit. I do ...

Hi all
I've finally started to post images to flickr. I have a section for my new large format work. Other stuff (35mm and 6x6) is there as well.
I'll run for cover now.

Hi I worked for 6 years managing a design dept for an exhibition display company. We had 3 60" 6 colour piezo pigment printers to operate. They were 720 dpi printers. One of them was able to do 1440. Imagine that, 1440 dpi over 60 inches media width! We never saw any improvement in quality by having...

Last time I turned it on the bulb failed to come on, so I can only assume the bulb broke. Column is wall mounted. It only has a medium format mixing ch...

hi gari count me in for end of feb with the icon theme. I've been looking for an interesting project to do some 5x4 pinhole imagery. I hope that is OK? All I need is the wind to die down enough to go out and make some pictures. I was woken up this morning by the flood warning sirens on the river Cal...
