Re: The way this Board is run
By Front End, I presume you mean the non-forum part. I'll be putting some thought in to that today as I have cleared a few hours to work on it. We're all agreed it's not brilliant, but again we're limited by time and what skills we have in-house. Now if somebody out there knows a thing or two about...

Re: Maxwell Screen
You need to know whether the Chamonix back was designed to have a fresnel under the focus screen or not. The company made a huge error selling cameras for a while with a fresnel and a screen that was out of register, they'd not allowed for the thickness of the fresnel itself. So not all Chamonix bac...

Am I still in time to get a couple in the mix? I need them 130 by 106mm, if you'd be so kind. A corner chopped off to let the air out would be nice but is not essential.
Thanks,
Neil

Hello Ian, You're in the process of hijacking this thread - not something you want to be doing. So I am going to answer in the thread you started. Thanks for the civilised tone of voice. Best regards, Charles Hardly hijacking this thread merely noting that at last an Admin that matters is listening...

Re: Thread subscriptions
Getting this thread back on track, RE: the subscription thing, this should not be the case, subscriptions should be "opt-in" by default, not "opt-out". I'll look into it. Thank you. I notice you're playing with the red highlighing of posts as well, it's an issue that's been neglected it's trivial b...

Re: WTB (or trade) #0 shutter
Hi Dave, an Epsilon would get me out of trouble, let me know what you want for it. I've a set of Geronar cells in no shutter, but more importantly two other #0 shutters in need of repair.
Thanks

WTB (or trade) #0 shutter
Looking for a Copal/Compr/Prontor shutter preferably with an aperure scale for a 150mm lens. Age is less important than reliability so even a good 1930's (rimswet)) Compur would be OK.
Have a Prontor Press #1 I could trade.

Thornton Pickard shutter Speed indicator dials
Most of you know I restore TP shutters and make & supply new curtains etc. I can now supply new shutter speed indicators, these are the paper piece with the speed indicator.

Re: Thread subscriptions
Interestingly I had the same problem as Ian yesterday in that some messages from the forum for what appears to be no reason were flagged as spam whereas some werent. I think what Joanna is saying is that once you have turned it off any new threads you contribute to will comply with the setting but ...

Re: WTB: 4x5 film holders with double groove
My typo sorry, the holder should be 11.9cm wide. Thickness doesnt really matter. There'd be less work modifying aplain wooden holder.
The single groove Graflex RB holders are wider, and the groove#s more central so they'd actually need more modificvation.

Re: WTB: 4x5 film holders with double groove
The very much older Sanderson "book-form" wooden plate holders have the same pair of grooves each side although the holder's very much thicker and so they are further apart. The Folmer Graflex Corp, name means that one is post 1928 when the company became independent of Eastman Kodak, however their ...

Re: ND filters for long exposures
After recent images posted here in this forum I'd think twice of buying a Lee filter if I wanted an ND filter, they seem to suffer worse than uncoated glass filters in terms of causing internal lens/filter reflections. I'm sorry Ian but you really shouldn't jump to such conclusions, especially when...
