Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions
I think the cover glass thing is to do with protecting the Fresnel side of the aftermarket Fresnel sandwich thing. Anyway, I took some depth measurements with a digital caliper, from the frame to the glass, and from the frame to an empty film holder with the dark slide out, and got a match (accounti...

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions
A little follow-up... I just took delivery of a Shen Hao HZX45 IIa, mint-, and at a price I failed to resist. Just had a little fiddle about with it, and I'm happy so far. Seems well put together. One thing to note is that the Fujinon SWD 90mm f5.6 will just fit in the front. The rear element on thi...

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions
Already have stuff on that weekend, I'm afraid.
I'm sure I'll home in on something suitable in any case.

Don't know where I got the idea that the 45DXII doesn't have swing, when it has front and rear swing.Nomad wrote:Thanks all for the comments so far. I didn't realise the Wista 45DXII I was considering lacks shift (and swing),

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions
Thanks all for the comments so far. I didn't realise the Wista 45DXII I was considering lacks shift (and swing), and I'm not sure I'd want to lose that. Also, I'm not planning to walk loads of miles or camp out with this kit - 2-3 miles to get somewhere is about the most I'd be interested in. The ca...

Seeking Field Camera Suggestions
I have an MPP monorail which I don't use for landscapes. I also don't use it for anything else. Great movements, but too big, and too heavy. Consequently, I have decided to sell it on, trade in, whatever, and get a field camera that I'm likely to actually take outside and use. My heart wants wood an...

Re: Adox 25 CHS - opinions?
I got a few rolls in 35mm, and tried one the other day. Sunny with fluffy clouds, photos taken in woodlands. No sign of light piping that I could see. I loaded the film in the shade of some trees with my back towards the sun - the camera was an old Leica, and the loading included the time spent pull...

Re: Greetings from Bonnie Scotland
Hi Chris.
I'm in West Lothian. I dare say a little meet could be done at some point. Any others in our area?

Re: Adox 25 CHS - opinions?
I shot a roll of 120, and it developed fine in HC-110 for 7 minutes (agitation by tilting the tank, 30secs at start, and 10 secs every minute thereafter). When I was loading it into the spiral, the back felt a bit tacky, presumably an anti-halation coating. I gave it a few rinses before putting in t...

Re: Adox 25 CHS - opinions?
Thanks, chaps. Looks like delicate emulsion is a potential issue, then. I should have a chance to try some towards the end of the month, and will see how it goes in HC-110. The Massive Dev Chart suggests 7 minutes for 35mm, dilution B, so I'll start with that.

Adox 25 CHS - opinions?
I'm attracted to this film for its reputed fine grain, and would welcome some opinions. My preferred developer is HC-110 (convenient, and stores well). I'm planning a long term project that is expected to last 4 or 5 years, consisting of a handful of shots evey month. I'd like to settle on a single ...

Greetings from Bonnie Scotland
Hi All. Just saying hello. It's nice to find an LF forum with a UK focus. I'm based in south east Scotland, and mostly use 35mm, along with the occasional roll of 120 in one of my old folders. I"ve had an MPP monorail for a while, but haven't used it much so far, partly due to not having something s...
