...Marc is still renewing the domain name, and I'm still hosting the site... I've recently moved it to a newer and faster server. I'm happy to continue hosting it for a while... My January 14 PM to "mash" remains unread and in my Outbox. Is "mash" Marc? In any case, thanks to Marc and you for keepi...

Thanks, Barry. As they say in the For Sale category in the US LFF, PM sent. :)
Perhaps my post was premature. Two days later, the PM to "masch" still hasn't moved from "Outbox" to "Sent." :(

Thanks for replying, Barry. If you're referring to "masch," I hope he'll provide an explanatory post in this thread. It would be nice to know why things have gone the way they did as well as how he might be able to revitalize the forum.

Status of this Web site

A bit more than three years ago, in a thread on the US large format photography forum, I defended this site against criticism that it was, essentially, "dead." At that time, while activity here was low, there was still ongoing posting of both new threads and responses to existing ones. Within the la...

Re: Ilford ULF film run 2013

Here's a higher level link for anyone who prefers emulsions other than FP4 Plus: http://www.ag-photographic.co.uk/unusual--ultra-large-format-sheet-film-29-c.asp I'm smitten with Delta 100 printed on Ilfobrom Galerie, a combination that delivers exquisite prints, in my opinion. :) Also, this is the ...

Re: Extreme Flattery

It appears that some time poster on this forum, Sal Santamaura, keeps a database on that well known and much admired American photographer and poster on The LF Forum Frank Petronio. Do you think that he's doing the same to anybody here? Vanman. Pete, I don't keep a database on Frank's nonsense. The...

Re: Comparison of Developers

Even if your scanner's transparency illuminator is inconvenient to use, you have another "light box:" the display screen of the computer you're typing on. :) You really need to examine the negatives optically. A more powerful loupe or some other means of magnification is necessary to eliminate the s...

Re: Comparison of Developers

I don't know whether the scanner's capabilities are insufficient to reveal differences between those negatives, but you should certainly be able to find out by simply putting them on a light box and examining them with a moderately powerful loupe, say 15x to 30x. Your scanner's transparency illumina...
