Really Right Stuff 'universal' camera plate B29
For sale is a RRS B29 plate that I think fits quite a few large format cameras. I had it fitted to a Walker Titan 4x5 (I think!) Details can be found here http://reallyrightstuff.com/ProductDesc.aspx?code=B29&type=0&eq=&desc=B29%3A-Used-on-several-cameras Note it is a 3/8 " screw. Costs $55 new (plu...

Resurrecting this thread - are Formatt polarisers any good?
I didn't get the Heliopan filter mentioned earlier in the thread after all, cash resources ended up elsewhere! I've just noticed though that Formatt (Hitech) do a 105mm circular polariser at list price £125 an can be got new for around £100. Considerable saving on the Heliopan and Lee prices. Has an...

Paul - good idea, like graphite powder for locks. I'll try that. Thanks

Re: Polarising filter - coated or non coated?
Right, got the filter. Next thing I envisage happening is the filter stuck on the Lee adapter ring (it already happened trying it out at home!), especially if I rotate with the thread to minimise risk of it dropping off. A quick search on the cheap plastic wrenches shows they only seem to go up to 8...

Re: Polarising filter - coated or non coated?
Thanks Dave.
That sounds like the probably solution, a second filter holder ... except for the additional cost!

Re: Polarising filter - coated or non coated?
Another thought, how are you going to use the stardard hood over a screw-on filter on the lee setup? lee don't make any provision for this. Thanks for the advice Dave. I just checked and the Lee hood I have is the Universal one (not standard as stated previously). It's the one with a filter holder ...

Polarising filter - coated or non coated?
Having sat on the fence on this I need to part with some money and buy in the next day or so, so to the forum for advice! I need a polarising filter for the Lee 100mm system, and I'm thinking of a Heliopan It needs to be a circular one (as I'm shooting digital), and it also needs to be a slim one as...

Exiftool
I don't know if anyone uses this, but in case not I thought I'd share it. It basically edits the metadata to a digital file, and once set up is dead easy, especially when using the GUI interface. Google Exiftool and you can see all about it, and download it ( http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exif...

Well done. I couldn't see any around, so ended up buying one from Teamwork! Annoyingly I used to have one, but sold it to fund a different size adapter.dave_whatever wrote:Thanks for the info David. Just got one second hand through the post from a forum member - saved a few bob there.

Not LF I know.
If anyone has a nice clean copy of one of these lenses lying around, I'd be interested please.
Similarly with a nice clean 120mm macro FA lens if anyone has one.
Thanks

Re: How to reclaim VAT & import duty on item returned to US
I found the Customs people very helpful when I was charged VAT on a VAT exemt item (the senders fault) and the two people I dealt with were quick to redress the situation once I'd faxed fulldetails of the item. There should have been a note when you recieved the item giving contact details etc and ...
