Re: Shutter curtains - MPP MicroPress & Pacemaker Speed Grap

Opened this forum section out of curiosity :) Can you PM me a price on a set of Speed graphic curtains, I'm refurbing mine and the current curtain has been repaired so a new set would be nice if the cost isn't too prohibitive. Would you just supply the curtain or could I send you the rollers and you...

Re: Digital back to film...

The film industry has been 'printing' digital onto film negs for a number of years at 4k film resolution. They edit digitally, then print a roll of film and get it copied optically for the prints that go out to cinemas for playback, that is a 4096×2160 digital file onto a 35x19mm neg. nice to see it...

Re: WTS/Trade Cambo 4x5 monorail.

As far as I'm aware its light tight, I couldn't see any pinholes or any issues, the negs I took looked fine.

Yep, I can post anywhere

PM on its way about the lens board.

Bill.

Re: WTS/Trade Cambo 4x5 monorail.

Payment could be paypal, bank transfer, cheque if you don;t mind waiting for it to clear.

Postage would be about £7-9 at a guess for a well packed standard parcel, call it a fiver though, I'll absorb the rest.

Re: WTS/Trade Cambo 4x5 monorail.

The main camera less lens is about 3.6Kg but I did this with an old Salter Balance so it may not be 100% accurate it should be quite close. The tripod fixing is a bolt of just under 10mm dia (3/8 UNC probably) I have a couple of bolts to include.

Re: WTS/Trade Cambo 4x5 monorail.

I was using a very old (10-15yr at a guess) alike tripod with regular 2way tilting head. It's the one in the pic. IMHO you don't need anything fancy, the clamp uses a fairly big bolt to attach it to the tripod. I'll do you some better pics tomorrow. Bill.

Re: WTS/Trade Cambo 4x5 monorail.

Still available, I'll weigh it tomorrow for you. I didn't get a recessed board but I can point you in the direction of a reasonably priced one if you like. My main issue lugging it around was the bloomin heavy slick video tripod I borrowed from work.

Kodak sheet film, which way is up?

So far I've only use ilford FP4 film in 4x5, I'm just defrosting a pack of Kodak Portra 160VC, the ilford was boxed emulsion side down in the box I think (as it was unwrapped) but the index cut outs started from the upper right looking at the emulsion side. Is the kodak the same, I see it starts wit...

Re: Scheimpflug and another question

Ahh. think I get it, to simplify the graflex has no rear movements, just the front standard has about 20deg of tilt, the bed can be dropped 20deg down (but no use on wide lenses) then maybe an inch of rise and 1/2" shift either way. I'm sure at some point the penny will drop with a resounding thud a...

Re: Scheimpflug and another question

Can you explain what you mean by 'back/up' -- maybe in terms of which side of which standard comes towards or moves away from you. E.g. normal rear tilt for near far is rear tilt, top of rear standard moves towards you. By tilt 'back/up' I mean from behind the camera looking towards my subject the ...

Re: Scheimpflug and another question

Great little simulator Tim, that has killed an hour this morning and given me a better understanding of how little tilt I need for landscapey stuff. What situations would require you to tilt the lens back/up for achieve a large focal area in shot. My Graflex only allows you to tilt up/back which see...

WTS/Trade Cambo 4x5 monorail.

I have here a Cambo monorail, not sure on the exact model. excellent working order, my first LF camera but I find it a bit awkward for lugging about (I wanted something more easily portable so bought a Graflex speed graphic). I'm selling the basic camera, so front and rear standards, lens board (43m...
