Re: Fuji Velvia Available!!!

Just the end of Velvia 50 exports.. The home market have newly rebranded Velvia 50 in 8x10 and 4x5 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fujifilm-Velvia-50-4x5-color-reversal-film-20-sheets-2013-NEW-PACKAGE-/321150858891?pt=US_Camera_Film&hash=item4ac615368b Bloody expensive though - the exchange rate makes thing...

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions

Some information for anyone reading this and researching Ebony cameras and Chamonix cameras. In the wet the Ebony can lock up and it can be very difficult to unlock it. Judicious use of a screwdriver does mitigate this somewhat but at some point (two days into a trip to Ardnamurchan with constant ra...

Re: Fuji Velvia Available!!!

Tim, although my last large order with B&H was just over a year ago now, I paid $52 per 20 sheet box. I also bought some last year for $65 per 20 sheet box locally here in So Cal. So the now selling price of US $125 plus $18 shipping is more then double for me anyway. I do appreciate these updates ...

Re: Fuji Velvia Available!!!

I was quite surprised that the price wasn't higher to be honest. Provia 4x5 is currently £70 and this is £82 - obviously vat and import but still it's far from double.. Actually that price of £70 from the Fujilab website didn't include VAT so it's only VAT at 5.3% so it should be £86... a 22% markup...

Is black and white difficult to get in 5x7? The 4x5 reducing back is a common purchase with the camera I've been told .. cost and weight adds up though

Re: Shen Hao 6 x 17

Been thinking of getting a Shen Hao PTB folding 6 x 17 camera, and was wondering if anyone had one and could perhaps give there thoughts on it? I have a 6 x 17 back which goes on my 5 x 4, but thought sometimes it would be nice to just take the one camera out. There is also the Shen Hao TFC 617-A n...

Re: Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated

Hey Tim, thanks for these updates. I guess all we can do is wait and see. I was in communication with Stef Dunn down in Australia up to about a month or so back on the LF V-50 issue. He had actually sent the Velvia 50 on-line signed petition to the Fuji Film president in Japan along with a letter r...

I've posted a little more here.

I think they've just decided to stop exporting it - I imagine this will be home market only but who knows... At least it will be available - albeit at a much larger price..

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions

Any camera will do the job... A black bag with a dark slide at one end and a lens at the other will do the job. What you want is something that lets you get on with the photography and the best deal for this I've found is the Chamonix. Lightweight and yet functional enough to take most lenses. I sti...

Re: 10x8 supports?

Hi folks Has anybody got any advice they can give me on tripods and heads for use with a 10x8 field camera? I have an old Gitzo monster with a Rationelle head which is solid if a bit clunky and very heavy!!. I have read a few previous threads but would be interested in what people think. Is any one...
