Re: Shen Hao - used market

I recently sold a Shen Hao TZ45IIa for £499 and a FCL810a for £1499 through Ffordes. Both sold within days of appearing on their website. The 5x4 has been replaced with a Chamonix 045n which I consider to be better suited to the wide angle lenses that I prefer to use as well as coping well with thos...

I wish you all the best on what seems to me to be a formidable undertaking by the sound of it. I too miss the service that Retro once promised but never quite lived up too.

Welcome Laurence.

I know all about the "voices". They keep telling me to hit the bid button on ebay.

Thanks Aynsley, I'm here to learn.

Roll Film Holder

What are your perceived advantages or disadvantages in using roll film in a holder over using a sheet of film and cropping the image to the desired format. Thanks Barry, that makes sense, especially from the temperature control point of view; I doubt cooked film will give very good results. I have a small rigid cold box, 6 pack size, buried in my garage somewhere, I must find it and see if it's suitable. I am interested in the padded case though, maybe...

Darkslide storage

Yesterday I laboriously typed out a question and launched it into the ethernet, which then seems to have slipped into a black void of my own incompetence, so I shall try again and be rather more careful with regard to which key I hit last! I carry 6 dark slides in my backpack along with the c...

Thanks for the welcome Tim. Yes, I do have a website accesable above, but there's only one large format image posted on it.
I must get around to updating it.

Hello from Middle England

I recently fell into this forum whilst doing a web search for a repair shop! Since all the usual suspects are already registered here I thought I should join too. For the half of you that have had the good fortune not to have met me before, a brief introduction is in order. Although born a Kentish M...
