Re: scanning colour negatives, how?

Hi Tristan, Don Hutcheson offers a very similar process on his website as a PDF document with a photoshop action also included. I do a very similar thing with levels.Inverting the image first (to get the positive), then holding down the alt key to show the clipping in the levels and adjusting highli...

Really enjoying Joanna's scans in both normal & Tim's boosted shadows comparison. I feel like I've taken some LSD! 8)

Re: Epson V750 vs Imacon 949

O.K. time for an update on our scanner testing! To bring you up to speed, I sent out 3 transparencies something dark, something light & something in-between. The most pertinent of which was the underexposed 5x4 a thumbnail of which is below: The full size JPEG Imacon scan can be downloaded here: htt...

Re: Epson V750 vs Imacon 949

For those that have been interested in this topic. We've finally got our results together & Tim Parkin is currently collating.

We'll be posting some comparisons very soon.

Re: The Return of Quickload

Unfortunately, since my original post here. I've had a talk with some Fuji reps & a couple of people in the industry. Definately no production of Quickload of any kind is happening at all, nada, zip. Fuji (God bless em) can't seem to organise a bloody tea party, all vendors can do is place an order,...

Re: Epson V750 vs Imacon 949

Joanna, Thanks for the PM reply. I want to keep this test to 1 transparency if I can, however looking at the examples above, I'm thinking 2 might possibly be a consideration. I don't want to prove a point by giving out a hugely underexposed tran. I'm looking for an image which has been exposed norma...

Re: Epson V750 vs Imacon 949

Tim's pedalling 'is wares! and DJ is havin a session about inkjet printer resolution. On the subject of inkjet resolution, (this sounds like a really obvious thing to say) I've fo...

Re: Epson V750 vs Imacon 949

Sure Charles, lets do this. Tim/Joanna, if your in can you give me a PM/post on this topic. As reiterated in my original posting, this isn't about being better than one another. This is a collaboration, to see where these machines rank, and more importantly can the difference be noticed in a print. ...

Re: Epson V750 vs Imacon 949

This is all really great stuff, thanks for all your comments. I've got a proposal. If I hook out a tranny, can I send it to Tim (for your Howtek), AbsolutelyN (for your Howtek) & Joanna (for your V750 as your obviously well up to speed with getting the best from yours). I'll print the images, scan t...

Re: Epson V750 vs Imacon 949

Again, this is like night vs day. I can't believe people think they wouldn't notice this on an A3 size print. No amount of sharpening is going to bring out that complete lack of focus.

Thanks Tim.

Re: Wanted: Process my E6 Quickload

Tim, your picture posts don't appear to have loaded properly to the forum, so we can't see em. Craig, yeah I did have it serviced annually initially. I now have it serviced every 15,000 scans on the recommendation of Hasselblad. They also showed me the engineer service menu, so I can keep an eye on ...
