Re: The way this Board is run
Ironically I could donate free server space, no bandwidth issues, no space issues, more databases etc etc. But the Admins of the site have no interest in moving the site forward. With all due respect, but given your complete misunderstandings about the forum software, at this point I am skeptical a...

Re: The way this Board is run
OK, I apologise for not getting involved sooner here, but RL is a bit dense at the moment. Too many students. :? First and foremost, everyone step back from the keyboards now and take 10 deep breaths..... IanG, I'm sorry to say, even from the relatively objective viewpoint, that I am coming i...

Re: Board AT RISK for the next 48 hrs or so
A minor update: I have to apologise, but we have his a minor snag. As a result, I have good news and bad news... Bad News: Due to some missing authentication keys, we have not managed to have the domain transferred to the new registrar. We hope that this is completed by the end of this week or early...

Board AT RISK for the next 48 hrs or so
Dear All, we are in the process of transferring the board to a new server, as well as transferring the domain to a new registrar. I'm sure there may be a number of hickups occurring, so please consider the board to be AT RISK over the next 48 hours or so, while we try and move things about. If any p...

Re: Nova Quad...Any good?
Dave, I have a Quad that I (very) occasionally use for B&W printing (dev, stop, fix and fix). Not sure how it is for RA4 chemistry, but the B& chemistry kept very well for about a week or two without any serious problems, if you use the cover tubes. My time estimate may be a little off, I haven't ac...

Re: Used chemicals dissposal?
I'm not entirely sure about colour chemistry, but for B&W the silver is the main issue (and I think there is still some silver in some colour films... (Mental note: must go and check my photographic chemistry data). In small quantities (for home processing) it can probably easily go down the drain, ...

Re: Redhighlighted names
Nah guys. I just co-ordinated the first version of the board and the website. For about a year, DJ has been dealing with the tech side of the board things vastly more efficiently than me. He is also the one who sorted out the complex major version upgrade recently with only really very minor input f...

Who are you and what have you done with Charles?????Charles Twist wrote:I reckon the Miners' path is less steep and less rocky, which I prefer when lugging the LF kit up in the dark.

The real Charles would go up the steepest route possible!!!

To chip in here: The SP is a cacking camera. Design is a copy of the early Technikas and takes most Technika accessories as well (finders, etc.). The stock fresnel screen is nice and bright and easy to focus. I've been using one since shortly after the first workshop and wouldn't swap it, even for a...

Hmmm.... "Least favourite": sort of: Schneider Angulon 90/6.8; Good points: Cheap, reasonably sharp if you have a good copy, and VERY small. Can stay on my Wista SP when closed up. Bad Points: No movements to speak off... a few mm at best, which defeats the whole point of LF. "Favourite": Sch...
