Intrepid Cameras
I haven’t visited this site for a while and it seems pretty dead. Anyway, although I am already an Ebony owner & will be returning to using it now that I can get out more, I wonder what other people think about the Intrepid Cameras? I bought a 5x4 Mk.II camera for an astonishing £250, 1/14th the pri...

Re: Mobile broadband.
Dear 'Mr Thingy' yes, this was clearly a "general off-topic post" 6 x 6, is as you say a great size...............why not flog the Hassy gear and pick up a 6 x 7 rfb, that way you've made a very decent turn and are able to do mf work with the movements and you can crop the negs too...............? ...

Re: Mobile broadband.
I'm just interested! What exactly is this thread saying about Large Format Photography in The United Kingdom today? Does anybody here (in the U.K., it's The U.K Large Format Photography Group, not the USA or Europe or anywhere else, the U.K.) actually take a field, view, LF press or monorail camera...

Re: Mobile broadband.
I use EE (formerly Orange) on my iPad and used a Vodaphone USB modem with my old MacBook, which were fine. I used my Vodaphone USB modem on the many occassions when BT's landline based broadband service failed. I cancelled by BT landline braodband & went for TalkTalk's faster, cheaper & much more re...

Re: Obtaining Really Right Stuff (RRS) equipment in UK
.........errr.......... look chaps exactly what's the big deal here? as I'm fairly amiss on the logic behind this thread................... andrew The problem is that in the UK you must import RRS excellent products directly from the States at great cost as their have no retailer in the UK (unlike ...

Obtaining Really Right Stuff (RRS) equipment in UK
At last! It now appears it is possible to purchase RRS stuff in the UK via the link below. I haven't tried them yet but it would certainly be an easier way to obtain certain items. http://www.photospecialist.co.uk/search.html?searchfield=Really+Right+Stuff&q=Search#?brands=&types=&stock=&kw=&...

Re: For Sale: Nikkor M 200mm f8 large format lens
I am interested, seeing that its much smaller (& lighter!) than my 180mm Nikkor.Riverman wrote:Bump. If there's any interest - make me an offer.

Would you consider an offer of £420?

FS: Schneider 120mm Makro-Symmar
I am reluctantly selling my 120mm Macro lens as I am doing all my macro work now on my Nikon D800 & Hassy (with bellows). The lens, which is in mint condition, comes with a B+W MRC UV filter (useful if you use Velvia 50) and a screw-in metal lens hood. It just needs to be mounted on a lens board. It...

CS6 subscriptions
I see that Adobe are going ahead with their decision to charge a monthly subscription  for new users of CS6 (or am I confused) according to Thom Hogan (& Nikon Magazine): http://www.bythom.com/index.htm Is there an effective and affordable alternative to using colour profiles when scanning in ...

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions
The key thing if you go into a reputable camera shop with a wide range of LF cameras, if you stroke an Ebony.... you're hooked. :$ I don't know about the 45RSW, but with the 45SU you can use the standard (universal) bellows and get full movements with the Schneider 80XL. You can even use them ...

I will not be able to come I'm afraid as I've been snowed in all week - I cannot go out in snow-ice at present as I cannot get back up if I fall.
I hope you all have a great time!

If you do something in late January I should be ok. I'm recovering from major surgery so should be well enough by then: train & bus services permitting!

Re: B&W film and ND Grads?
Interesting discussion from my original request! From the looks of things it seems to be that using a grad on B&W wouldn't hurt at all and in the end is probably more beneficial than trying to faff around in the darkroom. In a way, it's almost like those that foul things up digitally and just try t...
