Re: WTB: Jobo film reel clips

I don't have any spare but they are often available on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jobo-duo-clips-x3-/321117453720?pt=UK_Photography_DarkroomSupplies_SM&hash=item4ac4177d98 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LOT-of-3-Jobo-04042-Duo-Clip-NEW-red-duo-tab-reel-separator-clips-/271206557302?pt=LH_DefaultDoma...

Re: National Portrait Gallery

I can't say I've ever tried to do portraits but it's amazing how little depth of field you have with something like an 600mm F9 Apo Ronnar shot at near 1:1 I'm usually doing scarey things with tilt in the 20 to 30 degree range to get more in focus. Process lenses like the 600mm Apo Ronars and Apo Ni...

Re: Contact Printing without darkroom - options ?

Hi Martin the cotton bud and distilled water has always worked for me, when I first got the printer it took several cycles of this but then it had sat unused for over two years and it does mostly seem to be the mat black that plays up, it has done it a couple of times again always easilly cured with...

Re: Contact Printing without darkroom - options ?

Hi Dave hope you and yours are well as per my voice mail give me a call and I can sort you out a suitable Jobo set up if you like. At the risk of raising the usual rabid respone's from some I dropped into MrCad's yesterday options there that might be of use to you, Besller motor base and drum 29, Il...

Re: Contact Printing without darkroom - options ?

I was having a look about and found some references to contact printing machines but even then you are still faced with how do you load the paper. I can not help but think one way or another you are going to need to create a darkroom tempoary or otherwise, I made myself a small darkroom if for no ot...

Re: Metering, what's gone wrong?

I used to just take a stab at what the mid-tone should be If that worked why not stick with it ? I don't mean that in a sarcastic way. I have three prefered methods of metering myself. 1, look for a nice fluffy white cloud meter off it and give +1.5 stops. Thats a widely used rule of thumb for slid...

Re: Still dreaming of 5x4

It is actually entirely possible to carry the Sinar F 5x4 cameras in a backpack the trick is in folding the standards over the rail. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3159/2985378038_058a48a472_z.jpg I find I use a 47mm and 65mm reasonably often and being able to do so on a flat board with a bag bellows...

I was really saddened to hear this news Paul Beaumont was a true gentleman. I visited MXV on quite a few occassions and was always glad that I had, Paul was the soul of courtesy who would often enjoy suprising you with gear that you had not previously realised you wanted. I stumbbled upon a blog by ...

Re: Home Processing

If you go the Jobo route the numbers can be quite confusing. The most affordable of the Jobo options would be to start out with a 2520 tank that has a cap that allows inversion or roller processing. The 2500 series is the cheapest range that has a reel that takes 5x4 that reel is the 2509n. For 35mm...

Re: c41/e6 processing

I've never seen what I would consider to be a definitive answer what I can recall seeing some manual;s recommending fot it and some against, myself I have always presoaked E6 at least. In my case I am generally dip dunking six 10x8 or twenty four 5x4 at once in a fairly small volume tank which could...
