Re: FS: Lowepro Pro insert 1 MF

Thanks Marc- no, I've had my cooling off period-
it's a non-essential item for me; if it was £25, yes, €50, sorry, no...

Good bit of gear though...

Re: FS: Lowepro Pro insert 1 MF

Thanks Marc-

Tempting, but the postage pushes it out of the 'impulse buy' range-

I have the Lowe Pro case for this, have used it once or twice, it's relegated to storage-
Thing is, I never knew I wanted this until I saw your ad-

If I was local, I'd have it...

Re: FS: Lowepro Pro insert 1 MF

Marc, I'd be interested in this if postage to Ireland wasn't too much-
though I do need to check it's the right one for my case first...

Re: Poor de-cyan

I find red difficult, but not impossible- I've only used the NC once, but I didn't have the problems you describe- http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2597/3729344322_a294b02764.jpg I also took this on Digital, and the film scan was far more accurate- This was on a V750 using Silverfast- I don't know of ...

Re: *Cheap* 10x8 wa lens?

I remember that project- It's difficult to find a wide lens for 8x10- a cheap wide lens, that is- A 159mm Wollensack is about the most affordable- If you felt like going down the LoFi route, you have a few more options- think of it like a really large Holga- This one looks interesting- http://www.su...

Re: Best source of cheap sheet film

I wish I had-
but it's just so much cheaper in the US.
It must be down to volume discounts, and the fact that US prices are net,
and local prices include VAT.

Even if you get hit for VAT on import, there's still a huge difference in prices for colour film, especially 8x10...

Re: More Jobo Atl 1000 Questions...

I'd be interested to see how you get on with your 2 8x10's- I might be trying a similar setup soon- I was thinking about a sheet of thin styrene with corner slits- like old picture album corners- but they'd obviously show on the neg. Might be a little tricky to load in the dark too- Another option m...

Re: Polarizing filter advice

I take it that's a 72mm XL?

I've got a 112mm Kaesmann cpl, if you're interested-
used it once, can't see myself using it again, am open to a reasonable offer...
Though I'm away for a week in the morning-

Using the centre filter, a polarizer has to go on the outside...

Re: Anti-Newton Glass

I use a 750, and I found that the correct focus for 8x10 film was just above the glass- If your ANR glass is large enough, you could tape your neg to it, then suspend the sandwich, film side down, over the scanning bed- A coin (pennies might work) in each corner will lift the neg off the bed; you'll...
