Re: Ilford pricing

I'm not saying Foma 100 is always bad, in fact to get things real I've probably had about 60 sheets that had nasties. Sometimes ruinous, and sometimes a pain to spot out in print, but it is a film to love on the whole, and especially the price. I'd say to anyone using sheet film buy a box, check up ...

Re: Ilford pricing

I have actually used about 20 boxes 5x4, well over 200 120's and the same in 35 mm, and can say with absolute confidence that Foma 100 (in 5x4) does now and again have defects. Its gone through different dev/stop/fix combo's, and still it might or might not have them. I love this film, but I have a ...

Re: Ilford pricing

This has been talked over in the past, and nothing has changed. We all love Ilford, but not their pricing. I often think they would sell more if the price dropped a little. All those folks who barely accept the pin holes and black twigs on Foma film would return to Ilford in a flash. We all like exp...

Re: Ebay categories

Terrible new layout. Like a lot of folks I'd check out my fave categories. I'm taking this opportunity to stop doing that.

Re: Walker cameras

Adrian. Thanks for your SF review. As someone who has used one for 10 or so years I can add they wear well, and the paint finish is near indestructable.

So the new cameras are pinhole only? OK for some I suppose.

Re: Walker cameras

I'd heard he was releasing some new cameras to show at Focus. Just wondered if any one clocked them.

Re: Controlling the end-to-end process

Sadly my experience with the CPE2 comes from developing b+w only. It may be different for colour, but as we all know b+w developer is agitation sensitive, and I've often thought colour processing is more time dependant rather than time/agitation of b+w. Sure the chemicals need some movement, but the...

Re: Controlling the end-to-end process

Just a few things I've noticed about the CPE2 and films.... First off I like the thing, especially with sheet film. It works well, motors can be an issue long term, but for anyone wanting consistency and maybe small bulk processing, they are a bit more than OK. With the sheet film holders I've found...

Me too. This post just got me thinking. Where are the Crawleys of today? I dont mean people who hone technique, but those that delve and push things along to the benefit of all. Real inventors. Is the science going digital too?

Re: film chaging tents/bags/etc

I think a real problem with smaller changing bags is the amount of dust and muck they can retain. Also hands can get hot, and film is sticky stuff with clammy hands.

Re: Walker Titan SF

I'll bung a reply in as it must be that SF users hang out somewhere else. I use an SF with bag bellows. There is still room for all movements, or as much as I need anyway, using a 65 lens, that is a bit of tilt at the back or front, and rise/fall. I start getting into image circle issues before the ...

Thanks all. Looks like portra 400nc then. I dare say it's a good indoors type film.
