Re: Ridgeway outing?

Some lovely photos on this thread* - every time I travel down the M4 I think I must come back to this area with a camera sometime ... but I haven't had time to do much (any) proper photography recently.

* If I had to pick just one -RichardP's first one I think.

Re: Hi from NW London

Newbie question :? - What do you do with the exposed sheets in the dark slides when you want to take them to be developed? What do you pack them in to keep them light-tight? Cheers! Not sure if anyone answered this for you, but unload them and store them in an empty film box. Of course when you sta...

One other reason for a smaller/lower res version, is that it's always nice to see the whole picture without using the scrollbars ... and I only have a 17" monitor!

Re: Help: scanner fault?

Make sure you aren't covering the calibration area of the scanner glass at the end near to the hinge. Check the cutouts in the Epson holders to see where it is if you are not sure.

I've got one that you could borrow if you like. Might save the forum bandwidth without all the buying and selling ...

Re: Broken Epson V700?

Are you sure you aren't obscuring the area it uses to calibrate itself - near the hinge? If you're using the holders the wrong way around for example.

Re: Westonbirt anyone?

Well I turned up at WB just after 7 this morning. There was a barrier across the driveway, and a sign saying that you could pay at the machine next to the kiosk if there was no one on duty - but the machine appeared to be some way in the distance the other side of the barrier. A woman turned up with...

Re: Jolly Japes with 8x10

Given that the base is shaped down in the centre and up at the corners, and with 8x10 there are no pins to hold the neg down, I wonder if it would be better to use much less liquid volume? IIRC, the design intention was for 60ml of chemicals to process an 8x10 print, and I'd guess with that volume t...
