Re: Rucksack and monorail camera

Hi Valerio For what it's worth, I use an old Karrimor Sequoia 65L which I bought in a charity shop. You can pick them up cheap, eg http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KARRIMOR-RUCKSACK-BACKPACK-65L-/110735797319?_trksid=p5197.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D2%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D2453780...

Re: Another from the NE

Hi Andy It's not grot, it's strangely beautiful. Plastic bags on razor wire, who needs all that cliche postcard romantic landscape stuff when you've got so much dark scape texture out there. I used to run around those bits of Sunderland and Seaham after dark when I lived there, brought back some goo...

Re: Hi from London

Hi Maik Welcome to the forum. Good luck photographing the great Metropolitan wilderness, it sounds dangerous down there. Are they still stop and searching photographers with suspicious looking terrorist cameras or have things calmed down a bit? Should be some interesting crowd scene photo opportunit...

Re: FS on ebay Fuji Lanovia

Hi Matt, I guess you are probably biased (in that you want to sell your own services) but do you think it is feasible to run a hi-end flatbed on a no budget basis or is it just a rich boys toy. I love the idea of owning a Lanovia ( it must be very heaven owning two ) or are the maintenance costs, sp...

Re: Hello from Sunny(less!) Sunderland

Hi Mike Hi from the wilds of Northumberland. We could be developing enough members to have a local Northeast UKLF chapter. Am also slowly learning the dark arts so probably not a good idea to ask me any questions. I did get some good advice early on from this forum though, which was to have patience...

Re: LF High Res Scanning Services For All Budgets

Hi Matt Welcome to the Forum. Glad to hear you are changing the website as the old one used to freak me out, memorable, but those eyes...! I guess it was probably not designed for boring old fart landscape photographers like me but Rankin wanabees. Do you get any time for LF photography or is your l...

Re: FS on ebay Fuji Lanovia

Hi Gari I was arguing that there is a generation of very useful flatbeds out there that need to be saved. I get the feeling that people who want to go hi-end concentrate on drum scanners which are massively expensive to run and maintain. The Lanovia and others can batch scan 6 5x4 trannies at one go...

Re: Ultima Thule - exhibition at Tullie House

Hi Stephen, Loved the exhibition. Tremendous prints that hang together well as a narrative. A voyage to the edge of the world, the romantic sublime, Nasa alien worlds but brought forcefully back to earth with an ecological vision. 10x8 "forensic observation" of the grinding edge of geology, ice and ...

Re: FS on ebay Fuji Lanovia

Hi I think I was arguing for cheap scans, £25 for a drum scan by someone who knows what they are doing is an absolute bargain but I think there is also a market for really cheap scans using that generation of flat beds which came out in the early 2000s (Fuji, Agfa, Scitex) that are now being sold of...

Re: FS on ebay Fuji Lanovia

Hi Julian I am definitely in the market for hi-res LF scans at an affordable price but I am not a representative sample of LF photographers. I am doing it on a very meagre budget when I suspect many of the Ebonyphiliacs on here can well afford to pay top dollar for exhibition quality scans from big ...

FS on ebay Fuji Lanovia

Hi All I'm not selling this and I certainly can't afford to buy it but there is a Lanovia for sale on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fuji-Film-Lanovia-C-550-graphics-Pro-Scanner-/250754778691?pt=UK_Scanners&hash=item3a62264643#ht_500wt_951 Just dreaming that one of you out there will have the cash, the ...
