Re: From the smokes

Hi Trevor

Welcome to the forum - I recently signed up to the FADU site and usually see your posts there.

I've had a bit of a problem with the internet connection at home recently, all sorted now, so hopefully I'll get a contribution or two posted in the not too distant future.

Best regards

Re: British Large Format Landscape Photographers

Hi Tim Although I'm still not able to scan film - so not able to post any results on the 'net - I'm still getting through way over your threshold in colour neg (Fuji Pro160S) and B&W. Using my recently completed darkroom for printing. I'd be pleased if you would add my name to the list. Best Regards

Re: Hello from Hertfordshire

Hi Tamara Welcome - you'll find plenty of help here for life in the Large Format world. I moved from medium format over a year ago - still learning, a bit starting over again in some ways - enjoying it all the way! Hope it's not too long before you get your first LF camera - have you got something i...

Re: Glencoe Gathering anyone?

Hi Paul I could get there for weekends - I'm just a couple of hours drive from the Glen - might have some difficulty organising time off for the weekdays though. Let me know if that makes it awkward re' organising accommodation for the group - I could look into arranging that separately. It would be...

Re: Workshop in Snowdonia Images

Nigel I see you've got listed a 270m lens with the RSW45 - are you using the Ebony extension back? Or have you found a different way? I'm trying to get closer to the subject, but the 180mm lens I've got won't focus close enough without some sort of extension. Great set on flickr, by the way. I wish ...

Re: Workshop in Snowdonia Images

Hi Nigel

3 and 4 do it for me. Exposure looks dead on and the subject and composition is right.

Was that Velvia or are you still trying out the 160S?

Great stuff!

Re: How large does a darkroom need to be?

Hi Dave I've been going over the same problem - I'm just about to re-build the darkroom in my garage. I must have drawn sizes and layouts with two dozen options  I think I've finally settled on an area about 9'-6" by 6'-6" for the "total dark" area. I'm mainly into B+W wet printing, so I'm usi...

Re: Long-overdue introduction from new member in North Yorks……

Welcome Rod This is a great for help and information. I've also just been trying the Fuji 160S and I've been impressed so far. I haven't tried that scanning lark yet though - I spend a lot of my working day in a pc somewhere, it doesn't have much appeal when I get home! look forward to seeing some o...

Re: My first neg for years!

Air Conditioning??!! Sounds like you're setting a standard there, Dave! I can see I'm going to have up my game here - I thought i was going to be happy just to re-create Superman's "Fortress of Solitude" in an area where no-one could get in (keep the keys on the inside ). Sounds like I...

Re: My first neg for years!

Dave, I know how you feel - I'm moving my darkroom from the loft (no running water unless I carry up a ladder - damages my standing in the popoularity stakes with senior members of the household :( ). I've cleared out one half of the garage - where does all that rubbish come from? - then it'...
