Re: Mobile broadband.

The 3G network is patchy, but I have a myfi hub from Three and that works for my day job, including uploading 3-5Mb images regularly. Cost is about £20 per month but they tie you in for extended periods.

WTB Sinar clamp

If anyone has a Sinar clamp they don't want, I'm on the look-out.
Thanks,

Re: Lake District Spring 2013

Great to see the pictures coming in. While Dave T and gang were enjoying a chocolate box sunrise over Derwent Water, I was stuck in swirling mist above Langdale (the pikes of which I saw briefly). As the mist moved around, so did the colour of the light making for unpredictable results. All shot thr...

I like that last picture, Paul.

What are the woods like in autumn?

Re: Lake District Spring 2013

It was great to catch up again and associate some new faces to names. I look forward to seeing some of the pictures from the weekend. Hopefully, I'll have mine sorted this week. For the next meeting, we're thinking down south, maybe the Dorset coast, in the autumn. Although the mention of woods in t...

Re: Gimp or Photoshop

Hello Graham, My assumption is that the bit depth should mostly have an impact when you want a full range of tones from a rather flat neg. At the moment, you can get CS2 for free from the Adobe site. That's loads of tools to be playing with already, IMO. At the end of the day, though, the best tool ...

And it looks less round than you might expect from JC's shot (well that was 8 years ago so who knows?).

It's only 2 hours from Keswick to Newcastle - almost on the way. :)

Re: Lake District Spring 2013

Hello James, Firstly you're very welcome to attend. I am not sure how many beginners will join us, but I suspect you will be surrounded by habitual users, some of them hardened. The plan so far is to meet on Friday evening and decide what we're doing on Saturday. It'll depend a bit on the wea...

Re: Extreme Flattery

Very commendably, Andrew did not blame you (Sal) for any wrong-doings. You're clearly used to taking flak, but that's not the case here.
Best regards,

Thanks Vanman for your opinion. I think that Sal's answered you effectively. This forum and most others are trivial to mine for data. By posting on them, you and anyone else take the decision to make your statements open to public search. Can't do anything about it. If you decide to inflame this sit...

Re: Shen Hao 6 x 17

That's it - you're basically limited to b&w. Which is quite some limitation. And if you like a particular emulsion, there's less choice than for 5x4.

5x7 film is getting harder to come by. But lovely otherwise. Paul Owen had one of their 617 backs.

Re: Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated

Sort of brings the price in line with Kodak neg film then, but still good to know. What about Velvia 100F which is neither in the discontinued nor in the re-packaged list?
