an online book of photography

Of general interest ... It's a link to a new online book on my website: Everything Belongs Here http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a119/Sandeha/ebh/covershotlarge.jpg Everything Belongs Here: A Sketchbook of Wales is a compilation of 100 black and white film shots taken in Wales over the past ten yea...

Re: Wephota NP22 B&W Film

Hi Rod Easiest for me has been an old Ilford daylight 8x10 Cibrachrome print drum, on an electric roller. I think mine cost me £15 on eBay a couple years back. I put in just 250ml of chemicals (with some adjustment for rolling) and it works as a super clean, scratch free process. The print drums hav...

Re: Wephota NP22 B&W Film

I think it's beautiful stuff, and it's the only emulsion I've shot on whole plate. Questions tend to arise as to specks on sheets when compared with Ilford's higher QC, but I've never found a brand that doesn't occasionally have QC problems and Ilford is out of my price range. I dev in Rodinal. http...

Re: Still dreaming of 5x4

In one sense, I guess you'll only know what movements you need by not having them. My first 4x5 was a Speed Graphic which cost around US$100 complete with one lens. It had everything I didn't need, (front rise and shift) and not what I needed, (swings and a practical front tilt) but it provided me w...

Re: Major clearout

Hi Susie

I'd be interested in seeing pics of the 162mm f/4.5 Wollensak Raptar in a Rapax shutter; if you could, to: sandehalynch at yahoo dot com.

Do you happen to know the coverage of this lens?

Thanks.

Re: Compound shutter - cap for piston

Bondloc's Threadlock and Seal would seem the ideal candidate as it's designed for ill-fitting bolt threads. There are several strengths but I tend to use the general one that B&Q stock. There are specialist tools for 'cleaning' threads but you're unlikely to find the right one these days, I fear. A ...

Re: balda baldix 120 frame overlap

You may be doing nothing wrong, but simply that the gear teeth in the film winder have worn - at least, that is if nothing worse has occured. I worked on one of these a few months ago with just this problem and it was a (relatively) easy fix with a needle file and the adjustment of a spring. If the ...

Large Format Bellows Replacement

Over the past two years I have been making replacement bellows for Agfa Isolette and Record cameras and for a range of Large Format cameras as well - primarily the older types of tailboard, folding-field and technical cameras. The price for 4x5 and quarter plate is £100, 5x7 and half plate £120, who...

Re: A final update

Just hope I never have to make a set of bellows again. No fun. Oh, the irony. I haven't shot a great deal of LF in the past couple years, mostly 120 and 135. On the other hand I have been making bellows, and now fairly often for LF customers. A few samples here if you're interested ... http://www.s...
