Re: Scanner

Sorry, I didn't notice the page was in French. In fact, the driver is multi-lingual but here's the UK page for the same file http://esupport.epson-europe.com/FileDetails.aspx?lng=en_GB&data=+ab4PwTTw7fgnwvhPB6HKB6enF3qdUMkkurekGOZY+MU003D&id=326073 Just got back home from a week based in Landrake; w...

Re: Printers

1. Did the computer talk to the printer before you tried the refillable cartridges?

2. What make are the cartridges?

3. How old is the iMac?

4. What version of OS X are you running on the iMac?

Re: Problem with Epson V700

Make sure that the "calibration" area of the glass (nearest the hinge?) is clean and unobstructed.

You could also try looking at Fotospeed or Permajet who do refillable cartridges with a quality ink

Re: Re-filled Epson ink cartridges.

Not sure if this is the correct soap box, but does anyone have any experience of using Epson re-filled ink cartridges, specifically for the R800 printer, as supplied by Premier Ink? They are £3.99 (13ml) as opposed to £14.99! Too cheap to be worth it? But my printer is now getting elderly & I wonde...

I got very busy with writing iPad software for pilots of private jets and, with the decline in interest in LF generally, I'm not sure it would have been worth the effort or expense.

Re: Status of this Web site

I basically gave up on running the group or promoting the site since "the terminator". I'm not sure what I can do here anymore. I moved to France on 10th June this year but would be very willing to help LFers who would like to explore the Brittany region. I also have to seek a source of spares for m...

Re: Trichromie

Yes, there were other cameras, which were essentially three boxes side by side, which I gather you had to open the "shutters" one at a time. Aren't you glad they invented colour film? Mind you, the results I got from three shots, one after the other, were something special; very much like pri...

Actually, the probability is that they were taken with one of several "one shot" cameras that were available. Here is Henri Gaud with one of his : http://trichromie.free.fr/trichromie/images/OneShoot/Phase_I/_MG_4251.jpg If it interests you (and you can either read French or use Google translate, th...

Re: Vat on imported books?

There's no VAT on *paper* books, but there *is* VAT on e-book purchases. Go figure! Yes, I tend to buy all my technical books for Kindle nowadays. It's just so much more convenient to have a library of several boks, which would normally be several hundred pages and quite heavy, all on one slim iPad...

Re: Lenses - how to choose them?

They look identical to the calumet deluxe model (incidentally the type I broke). No, the Calumet are not as good. I believe the Gebrüder Schreck releases are sold under the Hama range http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/89919-REG/Hama_HA_5309_Cable_Release_Pro_Cloth.html. I have three or four of ...
