I don't actually see the difficulty,..... both A and A' can be brought into a common plane of focus using tilt.... Both B and B' can also be focussed using tilt, albeit in the opposite direction... As a broad guide, any two points are automatically in the same plane and can thus be brought into focu...

Not SO silly,.....personally I try to keep an open mind and try to evaluate what I read/am told. The 5D is only 12meg, albeit F/F. An intersting overview is here; http://www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/LF-Con.htm Be sure to read the Alain Briot article at the bottom. Like I said; I don't think it'...

"...I'm in favour of film.." So am I,...up to a point! It's a 'horses for courses' thing.... And, cost effectiveness must unfortuntely play a part. It may be generally accepted that well esposed and scanned 35mm beats any of the 'APS' DSLR's but if that means the use of premium processing and then a...

"......The "megapixel race" is over.." So it would appear at the upper end of the market anyway. Of course it may just be a pause,...it will be very interesting to see what happens in the next few days as 'Photokina' approaches. Personally, I think these 'big' DSLR's have a long way to go yet in ter...

I don't think this has anything to do with 'Moore's law'....that is about the tendency of electronic devices to become cheaper. This is about the use of unneccassary technology to make earlier, and quite adequate, tools obsolete! I've been taking a close look at DSLR's lately and can't help wonderin...

Hi Richard,...thanks for the message, Yes, I was watching that SEI on ebay but it suddenly seemed to dissapear so i assume the seller removed the auction. In searching the web it seems that the spot photometer is still in demand and is being modernised by a couple of people as a side-line to other b...

Well, during the next "grotty months" I will be quite busy getting ready for the next 'good days'...... I need to finally sort out scanning and processing equipement... Also need to service the rangefinder on the MPP and make up new r/f camms,...I have an idea for a quick change fitting so I can eas...

For anyone who, like me, has a particular interest in this topic and seeks help and guidance in determining whether 4X5 is the worthwhile course in the current state of technology,.....Here is a link to a thread on 'Photo.net' which is getting quite interesting.... http://www.photo.net/bboard/q-and-...

I "take photos" as a visual note-taking method, either as keepsakes of events, places and people in my daily experiences, or as 'aid memoire' in my various activities so that I can review my methods and repeat/change them next time. I also use sound recording and video in the same way,..indeed, with...

"........Richard, what material did you use for you MPP boards?..." Use paxolin sheet in two layers laminated with glass fibre filled resin,.....far stronger, better easier, more accurate and stable than chip board/router route. If you wish the paxolin lamination can also be routed after setting but...

The Wacom stuff has joined my list of items to research,....it's getting to be a long list! I am reliably informed that 'Picture Window' which was designed with landscape photography particularly in mind, can cope with "48 bit" colour whearas few other image editors can do this,....P/S only laterly....

Hi Joanna, ".....I think that getting to know the tool is merely the beginning of wisdom, then comes the real learning ..." Not only quite profound but very true! A good friend from my youth who was a press photographer and is now a picture editor, swears by 'P/S Elements' for his own personal work ...
