Field Outdoor Tripod Tent Mobile Darkroom - anyone got one?
Hello all I need to be able to load DDs on location and am looking for an upgrade to my existing changing bag. Having picked myself off the floor when I saw the Harrison prices, I've now come up with these - Field Outdoor Tripod Tent Mobile Darkroom for LF - on eBay plus the Calumet Changing Room - ...

Re: One of the perrenial questions of LF: which backpack?
The Mini looks great - like a grown up version of my Micro with a tripod holder. But I suspect there may be more than one model with that name as there's no way I'd get the kit you list in the one I received.

Re: One of the perrenial questions of LF: which backpack?
Thanks very much for that Trevor. I think I'll need to visit a store to try out models/sizes but it's helpful to hear of your good experience with the range.

Re: Dark cloth...
The BLACKJACKET from quietworks.com is great: light and packable; adapts very well to different cameras (see website for extreme limitations - n/a for your Toyo) and makes focusing easier than with a black sail; if you get hit by a shower you can keep dry while impersonating a Martian by wearing it ...

One of the perrenial questions of LF: which backpack?
I'm not carrying much: a Walker Titan SF 5x4, a couple of standard-sized lenses, cloth, meter, loupe and sandwich (!) but when I am I really want the tripod (Velbon CF, Gitzo Mg head * thanks for that tip davejt3) to go on the back of the bag so I've headed towards LowePro. The Mini Trekker which ar...

Re: Would Velvia F be a good substitute for Astia F?
No it wouldn't - I agree with the comments that Provia would be the closest from the East. I've also read that the Kodak g is close but has a tendency to colour shift early with long exposures - never tried it though. I was gutted 2 years ago when I couldn't get any more Astia F in the UK as, at lea...

Manfrotto 322RC2 Heavy Duty Grip Action Ball Head for 5x4?
Following a more general posting, I was wondering if anyone had experience of this head. I'd like to have the movements of a B&S plus a handle to hold onto 4kg of camera & lens while being able to lock the thing off one-handed. Has anyone on the forum got any experience, good or bad, of using one of...

Re: Advice sought re. best bag and also tripod head
To round this up and share my conclusions: dave_whatever's suggestion of the Mini Trekker AW hit the button for me with the trimmed down kit I carry, so that's a result. If I ever start carrying more then uniB's brilliant solution of the Redwing plus insert would be the way I'd go. Re. the head - da...

Re: Advice sought re. best bag and also tripod head
Thanks all for the really interesting responses. Gari concludes, like me, that Lowepro are the first port of call, others disagree. uniB's comment about the Photobackpacker with a Lowepro Pro Roller 1 Insert got me thinking about that in a rucksack, though I'm unsure why I'd also then want the Photo...

Advice sought re. best bag and also tripod head
Until recently my kit has comprised a Wista DX with 2 average-sized lenses on Linhof boards (180/5,6 & 125/5.6), Sekonic meter, 5 DDs, digi compact plus the usual bits: darkcloth, lupe, sandwich (!) etc.. I've been happy enough with my Chapak camera backpack up to now with the exception of needing t...
