darkroom
My darkroom has always been a temporary converted 'workroom' & I have always processed b & w film, but E6 goes out to South West Colour Labs Ltd. Now I have a scanner & printer I reckon I have the best of both worlds. Dennis

Cock-ups
Mark, take heart. I once walked a couple of miles across a moor to get a sunrise & found when I arrived home that I'd used the wrong back (Hasselblad) with B&W instead of colour! Dennis

Scanners
Hi,
I use a 4990 & find it OK for everything between 35mm & 5 x 4, but that is scanning 5 x 4 @ 1000 dpi & 35mm @ 4000, which may not suit the really keen types? Dennis

Tilts & sharpness
For what it is worth: isn't this about the fact that the image is seen by the camera as inverted & back to front. Tilting, &/or swinging, the lens frame brings the further parts of the subject into the same focus as the foreground. The Scheimflug rule is just an explanation of this, which is normall...

wet mounting trannies for scanning
There is a new Epson scanner which was reviewed in the AP last week I think which utilises a wet mounting method, but it sounds very messy & time consuming - which digital is supposed to avoid . . . .

Canham metal cameras
Does anyone have any info on how well (or otherwise) the metal Canham cameras function in use? They look well specced on 'paper'. Thanks.

WLB Large large format
If anyone in UK (pref southerly!) comes across a really nice Sanderson or Gandolfi in a size larger than 10 x 8 do let me know. I rather hanker after a 12 x 10, or possibly 11 x 14, but must have a lens or two & some working film holders. Failing this how about a near mint 10 x 8 metal Canham? Any c...

Quality from digital cameras does not compare with a well scanned medium or LF neg/tran anyway. Dennis
