Re: Ferrania to re-start film production

For those following the Ferrania updates they have published the "Founders Wall List" as mentioned as being a part of the Kickstarter program at the time. So, if you're one of the Kickstarter donators you can review the list for your name.... If you use "ctrl F" to search the page be sure to type in...

Re: Ferrania to re-start film production

Although the folks involved with the start up of Ferrania were working hard all the time, they did not originally do a good job of updating their followers. That has all changed recently. They've actually had some web and pod casts. Additionally, they've got a Kickstarter going to save a critical pi...

Re: Fuji Velvia Available!!!

:@ I totally agree Tim. It's all out of my league in pricing. I'm sure I bought my last 5 boxes here in the USA the other day out of NYC. I split a purchase of 10 boxes total with Stef Dunn down in Australia. He was the one who actually found them on line recently. He was also the person who ramrodd...

Re: Fuji Velvia Available!!!

Got this sent to me this evening by a couple of local LF shooters here in California. Apparently firming up the end of the line for LF V-50 according to this article.

Re: Fuji Velvia Available!!!

p.s. on a side not, Provia is $125 dollars in the UK whereas from Badger Graphic it's $54 .... even if you add VAT and Import to Badger Graphic, it's $68 so how the UK can justify charging nearly 90% more I do not know.. No doubt without Fuji making the products(s) readily available on all fronts o...

Re: Fuji Velvia Available!!!

Tim, although my last large order with B&H was just over a year ago now, I paid $52 per 20 sheet box. I also bought some last year for $65 per 20 sheet box locally here in So Cal. So the now selling price of US $125 plus $18 shipping is more then double for me anyway. I do appreciate these updates o...

Re: Fuji Velvia Available!!!

Tim, thanks for the link. For those that said they would be willing to pay extra, I guess it's available. Extra to me meant $1 more, not double over previous going price. Looks like they'll wean me off the stuff one way or another ......

Re: Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated

Any updates to the contrary would be welcome news on this subject. After contacting a couple large vendors here in the USA I was told the lynchpin was with Fuji USA not importing the V-50 4x5. However, after contacting Fuji USA today I received a response that stated; yes it was discontinued and no ...

Re: Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated

Hey Tim, thanks for these updates. I guess all we can do is wait and see. I was in communication with Stef Dunn down in Australia up to about a month or so back on the LF V-50 issue. He had actually sent the Velvia 50 on-line signed petition to the Fuji Film president in Japan along with a letter re...

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions

Not up on the Wista DXII ability, but the Wista DXIII I have I use most all functions as required for shift, tilts, swings, etc. I'm sure it is not on par with some of the high end units out there, but for my usage I've not had any lack of movements be any issue. As I did state though, my 90 on a st...

Re: Seeking Field Camera Suggestions

I have the Wista DXIII Cherrywood Field camera and have used it for quite a few years now. I've found it has worked well for my type of landscape photography to date. Lots of hiking to spots. Although the 90 & 300 lenses are close to the edges overall. I've not had to use a recessed board on the 90 ...

Re: 4x5 Velvia 50 update

Very valid points, Charles. Especially about the quantity of sheets being used. I'm only a semi-pro and shot 12 sheets in a sunrise cycle just yesterday. However, it will be another week before I go through that type of event again with time permitting. But, overall the point you make about it being...

Re: 4x5 Velvia 50 update

I totally agree with your comment, Paul. The observations about what others have done is exactly what has taken place. Many stock piled and others moved to negative film. Obviously all of this skews any numbers of support for the product and I'm sure it will be lost over the long haul. Too bad, it w...

4x5 Velvia 50 update

For those who may have taken time to sign the petition and followed the updates here is a message I received last night. It took a bit of time but Fuji did respond to the on-line petition that was signed by almost 2000 LF photogs. The person who started the petition, Stef Dunn in Brisbane Australia,...
