My 4x5 is a Crown Graphic. I can focus a 12" lens (305mm) down to about 3m or so, not close enough for tight portraits. Anything longer is impossible. Also, even at that size the weight of the lens at full extension starts to have quite an impact on the camera rigidity. forget about using a modern 3...

I despair to receive the SS, but at the least I will be able to compare the two when eventualy the SS screen arrives.

Richard, I didn't know Peak did 8x10 ! It's nowhere on their webpage and or printed price list... I use peak for my 4x5 E6 and their 'claw marks' are just on the side of the sheets, rarely (if ever) in the exposed part. I tried some portrait with 8x10, One does get away with full portrait, nothing c...

What kind of price does 8x10 E6 command in general ? film + processing. I only did B&W so far, but having supa-large slides is tempting -- even if I have absolutely no use for them...!

I've been using a Tachihara 8x10 for a few months now. I use Fomapan 200 mostly. I tried ERA 100 but it's next to useless given that it curls. In any case, Famapan 200 gives me the results I want for contact printing. Carrying 8x10 can be a problem, especialy if you try to carry the 4x5 kit as well,...

Awww well I didn't know that. But well, 200 sheets for $120 is not bad, that should keep me stocked up on fast film for my portrait project (HP5+ @ 1600 = Yummy)

So the workshops are actualy sponsored that way ? I tought only tea rooms were involved :D

Buying stuff at freestylephoto.biz?

They have a great range of products, but I've been wondering if I'm going to get hammered on delivery with customs (which I don't mind paying) and royal mail extortionate "handling charge"...

Any experience ?

Edit: Corrected the URL to http://www.freestylephoto.biz/

Chong, that wierd reflection you get ( "flare" ?) is due to the fact the inside of the front of your camera is not perfectly mat black... I was plagued with the problem on my self-made 4x5 pinhole until I experimented with painting half the inside with "blackboard black" paint... Not that I MIND the...

Technically perfect to my eye, great use of the filters so we get to see whats there... Maybe the eye gets "caught" in the village at the top/left ? Where the jetty leads, unfortunately ? And maybe I would have liked to see a bit more "space" bottom left ? But a great shot, I'm just being picky and ...
