Cracking Camera Tony

Imagine trying to use that outdoors. I have enough trouble keeping a standard camera free from shake in the wind without having to contend with a built in sail as well.

Thanks for posting

Re: Lots of questions

A second recommendation for John Brewer. Converting a 5x4 darkslide is simple to do, a small drill and a hacksaw should be sufficient, although you will probably not get a 5x4 image, more like a quarterplate size. You could also use trophy aluminium in a converted darkslide rather than glass for a p...

Re: In-camera positives using Ambrotypes and Tintypes

John I have had a bash at both ambrotypes and tintypes. John Brewer , a member of this forum, offers a two day workshop which takes you through the process from start to finish. I recently attended one of his workshops in Manchester and would say that it was money well spent. The opportunity to prod...

Thanks Joanna

Is there any indication of when the "International" will be? Or looking at the response so far will it be taking place at all?

We have just returned to work and people are already booking summer holidays etc. Need to get some of my days booked.

Black and White Printing Course

To start the new year I need to improve my black and white darkroom printing. I have a basic knowledge of the process and wish to learn how to produce expressive prints rather than something which is merely competent (or should that be mediocre?). I think I would be looking at 3 or 4 days in one ses...

I am also up for either North Wales or Cornwall. Which area has less rain do you think? Alan Golding If the last few workshops are anything to go by we could hold the workshop in the Kalahari desert and it would still rain. I would guess that Cornwall has the least rain of the two and possibly more...

Subject of course to the dates selected I could be interested in a foreign workshop. I presume that we would be looking at a week for the workshop as it is probably a little far for a weekend especially for us from up north Will there be a "learn yourself French" thread on the site in the run up to ...

Spring Workshop 2008

As a minor distraction to the coming season of over indulgence and jollity has any thought been given to suggested venues for the spring 2008 workshop? I note that there is reference in another thread for a return visit to Glencoe in sunny Scotland which I presume will be in the Autumn. To facilitia...

The craft shop (TEA ROOM) will be open and there are a number of very adaquate alternatives in the vicinity should a change of venue be required.

Hopefully the midges will have long gone, would not like to come back with a new coloured tongue

Glencoe Mk 2

Having been beaten into submission by the Scottish weather at last years autumn gathering in Glencoe I have decided to give it another go. I shall be staying in the Kings House Hotel on Rannoch Moor from Monday 19 November for a week. If anyone happens to be in the area at that time and would wish t...
