Re: Only use WA Bellows?

Combination bellows sounds interesting. Is there any way of having a decent range of movements with a 72
Eg a study of tall buildings in London without converging verts?
Scuse my ignorance but what's a top hat lensboard?
I use Lee's shades (normal and WA) so hope that will help.

Re: Kit Storage at home and portability on foot

Thanks for your top advice guys. I'll get more bags and pack them so that I'm more or less 'good to go' at short notice.

Only use WA Bellows?

At the moment I expect using LF mainly for Cityscape, Tabletop, Macro and some Landscape erring towards using lenses at the wider end of the spectrum. I read somewhere that a WA bellows can usually accommodate lenses up to 210mm, which is likely to be my largest lens. If so, I'll order Ebony with WA...

Re: Kit Storage at home and portability on foot

Thanks for that, so not too much risk of damage due to atmosphere. But my non-LF gear is already significant so adding a new LF system is likely become a storage issue - wondered how others resolved. Until now, I have been hiding the kit away until used but I'm now considering whether to create a di...

Kit Storage at home and portability on foot

As I acquire more LF kit, the storage/portability issue becomes more acute.
Any advice re :

Re: Lensboards compatibility

Thanks Ian & David, I didn't know about Offset lensboards nor the tiny screw issue - all good info. Whilst I was aware that the Ebony takes Linhof-Technik 'style' lensboards, I didn't know which other makes are of that style. However, as you mention, it's (usually) no big deal to replace a lensboard...

Lensboards compatibility

As a newbie to LF, I have started to purchase lenses to support 4x5 work (Schneider 210 APO Sironar f5.6 was my first purchase this week). I notice that some (used) lenses come with lens boards, some don't. At the moment, I intend buying an Ebony SV45U2. I would appreciate advice as to which make(s)...

Re: Hello LF'ers - greetings from Lancs man emigrated to London

Hey Paul,
I really appreciate your advice - I'll defo take on board. Would like to meet up with others to see how LF's operate.
Do you know whether any workshops / trips are likely to be organised in the coming months?

Hello LF'ers - greetings from Lancs man emigrated to London

Enthusiastic Zeiss man (Contax and Hassy) ready to move up to "big school" of LF. Nearly pressed the button to buy an Ebony45SVTE Friday ('Robert White') and today ('View Camera Store'). If I get the urge for the 3rd time, I'll press that darn button. Looking to get rid of those converging verticals...
