Re: Hiya, anyone in the Lakes?

Hi Penny. Its been funny getting back into film. I had a shock when I looked through the waste level finder on a Hasselblad the other month. The image was upside down AND backwards....I'd totally forgotten about that. So got rid of that and now got the MPP. Although I'm booked onto a wet plate collo...

Re: Hiya, anyone in the Lakes?

Hi, I'm near Manchester/Bolton but often visit the Lakes, especially around Bassenthwaite etc.

I'm just getting back into Large Format and film after 10 years of digital.

Re: Photographic Possibilities near Scarborough

What I tend to do when I visit somewhere is just do a flickr or google image search and see if anything interesting comes up.
Depends what your into and what you like to shoot I suppose. There may well be loads to shoot in sunny Scarborough.

Re: WTB: Graflex 5x4 Speed Graphic

I changed my mind and went along, things were going for crazy prices. I managed to get a couple fo 5x7 plate cameras. But that lot you were looking at went for more than 3 times its estimate. Madness. There was one dealer/collector there that bid on nrealy every item hence there was always bidding c...

Durst Laborator 54

Hi All, Just bought a Durst 54 enlarger with 135mm f5.6 Schneider - Kreuznach Componon lens for £10. I know nothing about this enlarger and just assumed it was fine for 5x4 negs.....problem is there no neg holder. Anyone know anything about these enlargers? Anyone have a neg carrier going spare or w...

Re: New member from South Devon

Hi Carey, Yes there are digital scanning backs for LF view cameras, I've never used or seen one used. And I'm not sure the actual chip is the same size as a 5x4 neg. Might well be the same MF back adapted to fit a LF set up. Someone on here will know. I've used MF digital backs and been well impress...

Re: New member from South Devon

Hi Carey,

Have you tried your local museum service? They might have the details of someone who can do it for you.
Here in the NW of England I supply a similar service although digitally. In the past 8 years I've not been asked to shoot any film mind.

Good luck,

Tony
