Re: i need 4x5 depth of field quick pointer

i get it:) i had seen a video at some point that mentioned it:) i try to imagine the plane of focus as an infinitely lage sheet of paper, following the same plane as the front standard, and when the front standard is tilted, the plane follows the sheet of paper wherever it goes. :) its the hairdress...

Re: i need 4x5 depth of field quick pointer

cool got it:) i never thought to use tilt for things like that, but in time i shall have a play about with it. lots of little rules, i like that. i think understanding these things as a pallete of pointers makes it so much more interesting. i shall have to add these kinds of things into my videos:) ...

Re: i need 4x5 depth of field quick pointer

ahhhhhhhhhhhh amazing!!!! i shall bookmark that:) thats one of the best tools i have ever seen for photography on the net. so useful. yeah i knew i would struggle looking ast depth of field on the ground glass as it needs to be wide open to view decently, and it needs to be stopped down to f/64 to g...

Re: an alternative to fujichrome astia?

Dear Frederick Thank you for your Inquiry regarding availability of Astia in the UK. Unfortunately, due to extremely low sales on all formats of Astia it had become unviable for us to import this film into the UK for distribution. We would suggest you purchase this film via retailers abroad who may ...

Re: film chaging tents/bags/etc

yeah i know what you mean perhaps some kind of sliding cover or hatch would work. i think it would have the same benefits as a proper dark room, ie lots more space, not just to fit the film in its holder but also store things on shelves, have various boxes for this and that and also much less heat i...

Re: film chaging tents/bags/etc

i shall do all of that, makes sense. im definitely going to build myself a mini darkroom though. a box maybe 2m by 1m x 1m with some shelves inside it too and maybe 3 sets of arm holes with sleeves.

put it on top of a table and away you go.

i really dont believe in giving in:)

Re: film chaging tents/bags/etc

oh i know, it was pretty much a neccesity as its all i could afford right now. but yes all the things you said make sense.

the brush thing is a must with darkslides, and i added to the compressed air by using a hairdryer, great tool:)
