How about simply laying the paper and neg on top of of something flat like a sheet of MDF and then a piece of glass on top?

I didn't try to correct the colour balance when I took the film shot. I tried to set the white balance on both the film and digital shots in post. Due to hosting restrictions, we do not have the ability to take any more attachments. As Paul says, it has always been preferable to post your images on a service such as Flickr and then link to them from your message.
