Re: i know this is off topis but - landscapers
This truly is an eyeopener and food for thought. To tie this into the forum here I've personally complained about this contrail issue to others and got mixed reactions from family, friends, and photogs alike. There are areas in the southwestern USA that I visit and photograph often that fall prey to...

Re: an alternative to fujichrome astia?
Georges, there truly has been confusion and little direct information from Fuji on the subject overall. However, most postings in forums indicate that once Fuji dropped the Quickloads entirely, they planned to package cut / standard loads in 20 sheet boxes throughout. Beyond that maybe a chance of m...

Re: an alternative to fujichrome astia?
Excellent news, Frederick. Thank you for the follow up to our mystery regarding the 20 sheet boxes of Astia. That dating of 2012 obviously places a strong stamp of approval that Astia did in fact make Fuji's updated product list overall.

Re: Fungus & mold - opinions sought.
I bought a used lens years ago from a well known used camera vendor. I did not see anything at all wrong with the lens at first, but after using it and having film returned I noticed slight irregularities on the light table with the processed images. As a result I took a magnifying glass and really ...

Re: film chaging tents/bags/etc
The Calumet is an excellent price. Although I've heard pros and cons with regard to the front or side arm entries on the tent style units. I've not had either so I'd be interested in how this one works compared to those side entrance units.
I presently us a standard bag with side entrances.

Re: film chaging tents/bags/etc
I've seen a few photogs using 1/2 inch PVC pipe and connector joints to hold up the inside of their standard changing bags. Seems to work OK.

Re: an alternative to fujichrome astia?
OK, after reviewing the Badger site this morning, Astia, Provia, and Velvia 50 are all there in 20 sheet boxes. This is a good sign that things maybe finally starting to hit the shelves overall.

Re: an alternative to fujichrome astia?
Indications seem to favor that Astia is alive and well. This is all good news and hopefully remains on the upswing for all the chromes Fuji showed on their list of survivors. Of course like most everything in our money driven world, it will take a steady flow of purchases to retain this good luck, n...

Re: an alternative to fujichrome astia?
Tim, hopefully that is the case. Not unless as I asked, was the Astia ever available in 20 sheet boxes prior. I suspect that the expiration date Frederick will see when he gets the box will help decide if it's a newer released item, or just an old box left over from previous runs some time ago. I'm ...

Re: an alternative to fujichrome astia?
Thanks for the post on Badger, Frederick. Was Astia ever sold in 20 sheet per box before the QL demise? Just curious as to out of date issues with various supplies out there. The V-50 QL's I've received from B&H so far have all been late 2011 dates. Not that the dating is a big issue, but always wan...

Re: an alternative to fujichrome astia?
Hey Tim, sorry to say, but no 20 sheets per box as of yet. At least to speak of anyway. We have been waiting for Fuji to make the transition here in the states overall. In fact, I'm still buying Fuji V-50 in QL's at B&H to this day. Oddly, right after the announcement you could not find hardly any Q...

Re: an alternative to fujichrome astia?
Astia 100F standard loads, not-QL's, are still being sold at B&H in 10 sheet boxes for $19.95 U.S. currency. It has been a favorite of many California 4x5 shooters that I know here in the states. An excellent transparency film IMO. Just looked and found that Samy's Camera here in USA is still sellin...

Re: Kodak's commitment to film & ULF film (BJP article)
Always good to see encouraging updates on film items in general. I had seen a similar update a couple weeks ago and I'm happy to see Kodak making some overall futuristic thinking in their product lines. Thanks for posting and sharing this info here.

That is wild. I'm sure the field version runs on just two AA batteries too.
