Re: Microtek i900

I've been using a Microtek i900 for many years now. I bought it brand new when they first came out. Although I have used it for reflective use, I primarily use it as a "positive" or transparency scanner if you will. I use it for 35mm-6x7cm-4x5 transparency scans. What scanning software are you using...

Re: New Member - Hello !

Hi Andrew, so far as gear goes in Large Format, it's always shy of at least "one more lens", don't ya know. :D Here is the list that I typically haul in the backpack to as remote as I can get these days. After an ankle break years back I've had to trim the distances a bit, but never give up what I e...

Re: 20 sheet boxes of Fuji film....

We have a real mixed bag of per box listings as well as pricing all across the USA vendors right now. B&H usually has the best source if not the overall best pricing at times. In California, Samy's Camera typically has had very good pricing over the years, but supply could wavier from product to pro...

Re: Film still has its fans

Really not sure what they were shooting the images for per se, but they had a large enclosed trailer with two identical VW's in it, one white the other black. Again, I'm not at all sure what they were shooting the images for I just assumed magazine or possibly car brochures. One day they parked one ...

Re: Film still has its fans

I have seen this in just the past few years for advertising shoots in the Alabama Hills here in California. The area is always being used for movies, commercials, as well as magazine photo shoots too. I came upon one crew shooting for Volkswagen and thought for sure they would be shooting digital. I...

Re: 20 sheet boxes of Fuji film....

Apparently Astia is still out there, which is a good thing. I know many more Astia shooters then Provia users, if Fuji decides to make any deeper cuts overall. :(

Looks like the same thing at B&H at this point in time. Pricing looks comparable as well.

Not seeing it on the list here, but is Astia still in the mix? Lots of Astia shooters in the group over here in California are looking for updates too.... :)

Re: 20 sheet boxes of Fuji film....

A very timely update on this Fuji transition taking place. This is at least a good sign that we should start seeing this take place at B&H in the states shortly. Good news, thank you. :)

Re: The Return of Quickload

Thank you for your responses. Overall B&H seems to still have a mixture of QL's on hand, including V-50 at this point in time. It has been really odd how this has played out. During my communications with B&H a few months back when the QL's were being discussed as items of history, they were not bei...

Re: The Return of Quickload

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd post a message here to see if there are any current updates to share now that we all know the QL's are not readily available if at all. The reason for the comment is more of a question to see if anyone has heard as to when we will see the new boxes of ...

New Member - Hello !

Hello, to all who maybe a site member or visitor here. I was lucky to have found this site during the demise of the Fuji QL's. As my requests for updates on the subject went unanswered from Fuji at the time, at least the posts at this site were quite helpful and informative. The loss of the QL's sti...

Re: Alternatives to Epson V7xx

I've had Microtek scanners for many years now. I presently have been using the i900 which was the predecessor to the newer M1 unit from what I understand. One of the key purchase factors for me a few years back now with regard to the i900 was the glassless scan area feature for material up to and in...
