While I may be interested, I don't even know where the place is..... Which suggests that it is too far away for me for a casual trip, unfortunately

Nat, Nice stuff! I've been to a couple of end of year shows last week (City College and Manchester Met) and every time I have to say that the quality of what people are producing during their courses is astounding. Large Format is still quite rare, but you do see a good amount of MF work. I'm partic...

As an aside: My Nikon 120mm Makro slipped through the net without payment, last time I ordered from B&H, when sent via USPS in a fairly small parcel. The same happened when my Wista was shipped over (one camera, two lenses). I suppose it depends on how busy they are at the post office. UPS on the ot...

Paul, If those are your first LF images, well done! Great effort. Keep it up. A few comments. The pier has a little too much water foreground. I'd think making the rocks more prominent, i.e. coming closer in, would make for a more interesting image. Otherwise you have too many things to look at.... ...

Ben, Yes, image circle at infinity is probably the major differentiator. As long as you can fit a lens for an 8X10 onto a 5x4 camera, it will work just fine. I think the diagonal of 8x10 is soemthing like 325mm (no calculator and my mental arithmetic is useless!). So there isn't an awful lot of move...

Paul, My QLs fromn Peak came back in their usual sleeves for 5x4 film. and w/o the QL envelopes. You may ask if they can do something about that. I have never found a relationship between the ref number on the envelope and the marking on the film border (numbers on envelope, letters on film). I have...

Jo, The Flash streaming version of iPlayer has been out for ages. You need flash installed on firefox. There's a little problem with the rendering engine on FF2, whee is occasionally does not render the video window properly, unless it sits on the edge of the browser window (upper or lower. A bit wi...
