Jobo 2850

When I bought my CPA2 processor (second-hand), it came with several processing drums for film and paper processing. One of these is a 2850 drum for processing photographic paper sizes as follows: 5x7 inches = 8 sheets 18x24 cm = 4 sheets 8x10 inches = 4 sheets 9.5x12 inches = 2 sheets 11x14 inches =...

Thanks Keith - maybe that's an idea for a workshop? It's really easy to make a print, the difficult part is to make a negative that will make a good print! I`ve been reading up on an article about P.O.P. prints by Roger Hicks. He seems to favour a medium speed film which has been given exposure on ...

Keith, I would use a decent double-sided satin paper, printing odd pages first and then even pages on the reverse sides; Maybe use a comb binder to keep the pages together. Thanks for replying, any particular brand of paper? I`m not really familiar with ink-jet papers other than regular glossy phot...

MAGNAchrom.

I`ve just downloaded the latest issue of MAGNAchrom which is the largest issue yet at 70 pages (19.51MB). I would like to print this to a decent quality for keeping and would like some help as to do this. I have an Epson 1290S printer, so some advice as to printer settings and print material would b...

The Manfrotto 055 Pro & 410 head arrived this morning and is much lighter than my Triaut 058 with 229 head. This will be my regular tripod for outdoor work while the 058 with Auto-dolly 181 will remain my studio tripod.
Thanks again. :D

I gave them an 055 (one ball bearing) and a 141 (the second) - I got one back broken, and one, lost...MY 410 is still mint after all this time... I bought a 055 PRO and MN410 geared head today, which I have ordered from Warehouse Express. This should arrive on Monday. Thanks to everyone who replied...

Just my twopennarth; I replaced my aweful Benbo (not even Barbara Woodhouse could have got it to sit). I bought a Manfrotto Carbon 443 which has a load rating of 6kg. I use my old Benbo ball head and a manfrotto QR plate. This lot weighs almost spot on 2kg. It works well for my Ebony RSW. I used to...

I will definately go for a 410 geared head, although of course another item to purchase.
Thanks for the `Tripod Specs`. 8)

I have a large Uniloc Ball & Socket head on my wooden MPP Tripod, hopefully it will fit the Giottos Tripods too.
I am wondering which model would be the closest in specification to the Gitzo tripod that Joanna uses? :?:

I might be sticking my neck out Charles but I think the Calumets are rebranded Manfrottos, just as the Giottos are Gitzos - look at the styles of clamps, finishes, fixtures etc. I like some of the ideas of the Gitzos but the price puts me off. Andrew What are Giottos? I`ve not noticed that brand be...

The MF3 was exceptionally 'springy' too. Get the legs out at 60 degrees and you could push the camera down and watch it bounce up and down a little. It also exhibited an unnerving oscillation at some wind speeds. Yes, the Gitzo is expensive, but it's a real different beast. The 055 MF3 isn't that m...
