Re: Victoriana
Close - New Brighton I'm sorry, my brain didn't inform my fingers of my thoughts; I meant to say New Brighton  You can see I know the area from the images of Perch Rock lighthouse on my website. My first reaction to your image was that the background was distracting to the shelter but, withou...

Re: Wilderness cameras!
It's more a case of bad luck being charged Duty & VAT, particularly on smaller items. Out of over 50+ purchases from the US I've paid tax about 4 times, it's more likely to occur on items that appear to be coming from companies rather than private individuals and also size/weight. I must be the unl...

Re: spot meters
I use a Sekonic L608 and have a Sekonic L488 as a back up. The L608 has a lot of bells and whistles which I will probably not use. However it has two things going for it. Firstly the aiming reticle is brighter and secondly the range of shutter speeds includes those speeds that appear on older compur...

Re: A stupid Question
I am 53 years old and recon I will be long dead before LF photography becomes untenable. Remember there are people using cameras up to 100 years old. That's the beauty of wood - anyone with cabinet making skills can adapt an old camera to modern film sizes. With regards to your MPP - at the risk of ...

Re: Walker cameras
I have owned a Walker Titan SF for a couple of months. I purchased it as a replacement for my Shen Hao. Here is my short "first impressions" review which I posted on another site I must confess I have limited experience of large format cameras having only used an MPP Micropress in the late 70's, and...

Re: Wtb: Schneider 90mm angulon 6.8
Looking at Schneider's vintage lens data it looks like the 90mm Angulon has an image circle of 154mm at f16. I don't think that this will cover 5x4 inches. Schneider suggest that this lens is for 9x12cm.

Re: berlebach 3032, experiences?
But on a more serious note. I did some research on these tripods and concluded that for weight, and load bearing capacity they looked really good value. The only question mark in my mind was the ball and socket mounting head. I have always found ball heads a bit of a fiddle to level successfully. Al...
