WTS Arca Swiss Monoball (early model)
I've saved the best to last on my Sunday clearout. This is an Arca Swiss monoball, early model but in good condition, a couple of small marks but otherwise good, and more importantly turning beautifully and locking tight and completely rigid with my Arca 57 on it. Personally I live the brushed Alumi...

WTS Linhof 13x18 darkslide metal frame only
This is another 'came with something else I bought' item. It's part of a Linhof 13x18 darkslide, specifically the metal frame. No idea what it might be good for, but conceivably you have a project it would be useful in. A long shot I know so £7 delivered to the UK. http://blog.rivast.com/wp-content/...

WTS Linhof Copal 1 lensboard or swap for Arca 171
This came with a lens I bought and is surplus to requirements: Linhof/Wista metal lens board drilled for Copal 1. Either £15 delivered to the UK, or happy to swap for Copal 1 or Copal 3 old style Arca board (171mm). http://blog.rivast.com/wp-content/uploads/lensboard1.jpg http://blog.rivast.com/wp-c...

Re: A Sturdier Tripod?
I am happy with the 3 or 4 section gitzo 5 series CF. Dave has a good point I think - each section is potentially a cause of slightly wobbles, so fewer longer sections are better. I have a 3 section Gitzo CF and am very happy with it with my Arca 5x7 and a Linhof levelling head. I've recently writt...

Re: UK source of large lens caps?
Many thanks Rod, I much appreciate the reference.
Re Daymen referenced above, just for info, they appear to have gone out of business - the phone number is disconnected and email to them bounces, so I suspect the website is just a relic of a firm now failed
Kind regards
David.

Re: UK source of large lens caps?
Thanks Barry. RK are very nice guys and they were very helpful, but ultimately it seems can't get something that big. I appreciate the referral though.
Kind regards

Re: UK source of large lens caps?
Hi Matthew Yes, I've tried the auction site - the problem is 110mm is _big_  There are plenty of smaller ones. As you might have guessed, I am trying to get a pair for the Sironar front element, but I wanted to pick up one for my 300 at the same time and save on shipping. Ah well... I'll trying...

UK source of large lens caps?
Folks
I need a 110mm diameter lens cap for a 300mm Symmar. Before I order from B&H with all the associated hassles, does anyone know of a UK source of such? Push on plastic types are fine.
Many thanks
David.

Re: V750 holder sharpness issue
Now you didn't tell us you were multi-scanning  That is not something I would ever consider doing without a very solid and inflexible holder. The heat of the scanner lamp can be enough to warp the film if it is not completely nailed and glued down; The Better Scanning holder might cope but I ...

Re: V750 holder sharpness issue
An update on this just in case it helps anyone else... It turned out to be multiscan. First I turned everything off - digital ICE, multiscan, the lot. Scans with old and new holders were indistinguishable, and those from the new holder were much sharper than before. That clearly indicated (to my sur...

Re: V750 holder sharpness issue
You can certainly change the orientation of the feet, or even try packing under the feet with shims of gash film/paper or similar. Thanks. I might try some of this first. I find it hard to believe that Epsom have compromised the performance of a £500 scanner by spending 10p too little on plastic, b...

V750 holder sharpness issue
Folks Any help on an annoying scanning issue would be appreciated. I recently replaced the film holder for my V750 - as often happens, apparently, the little plastic pieces holding the top of the film holder to the bottom broke. Rather than going the better scanning route (I know, I know), I got a r...
