Re: Mount cutting

These people have an eBay shop selling mounts and offer a custom service. I don't know if they can provide thicker board. They claim that their cutter is computer controlled. I was quoted £1.95 per mount for 20" x 16" with 16" x 12" cut out + £10.00 delivery (on order of 20 mounts) http://www.kadins...

Using Velvia with daylight type Fluorescent Studio Lighting

I purchased a 8 x 10 Deardorff a month or so ago along with a box of 50 sheets of 8 x 10 Daylight balance Velvia 100. I would like to use a couple of sheets on some tabletop photography. My lighting system is a couple of daylight type spiral flourescent lights with diffusers, similar to these: http:...

Re: Pentax Spotmeter V Batteries

Just read the instruction book for the meter and found that the batteries I require are G13 1.55 volts. I have found this supplier that does an Alkaline (Manganese Dioxide) AG13 battery of the same voltage and the same size. I have sent an email to the site asking about compatibility between the two...

Pentax Spotmeter V Batteries

Hi - the batteries on my Pentax Spotmeter V are getting low. Can anyone suggest where I can get replacements (1.3 volt?) or alternatively can anyone suggest where I can get the meter modified to take the later type of (1.5volt?) battery and have the meter re-calibrated to suit. Or does it matter if ...

Foma 100 5 x 4 film problem

Hi - sometime last year I purchased a box of 50 sheets of Fomapan 100. Inside the box was two separate plastic envelopes containing the film 25 sheets in each. I have just finished using the first envelope (with some satisfaction of the product) so started on the second envelope. When loading the fi...

Re: Scanning Help

... straighforward way to go from SCSI to either USB or PCMCIA? There is / was a scsi to usb adaptor made by Adaptec. I had one on order for nearly six months from Amazon (UK) but never managed to get one - they were always awaiting delivery. Perhaps you could locate one direct from Adaptec. nn :)

Re: HP B9180

Hi I have a B9180 and am very satisfied with the prints I get although I had some initial problems with profiles and colour corrections. I have found the cheapest cartridges are from Amazon (UK). The software is not very good It keeps trying to reinstall itself. But apart from that I seem to have no...

Nice image, but as a beast it wouldn't work unless it spent most of it's time in the water Just as well there is a lake behind the trees 8) I live not so far away from the park - Are the dinosaurs accessible for photography? I though they were fenced off when the park was recently refurbished. nn :)

Another processing question

Hi - I have recently started to take notes on some of the shots I take. So I can sort out what notes are for what films I have numbered all my film holders like 1+2 then 3+4 then 5+6 so each holder has an odd side and an even side. However it has struck me that when I load my processor to process th...

Hi - My Paterson Orbital was modified to prevent negatives sticking by putting small (pin head size) blobs of Fish Tank sealant in a cross pattern for each 5 x 4 with 2 blobs along each edge. This seems to work fine. The bigger the blob the more solution needed. With a few negatives I noticed some u...

colour photography (C41) home processing

Hi - Sometime this summer, If it happens this year, I wish to try some large format (4 x 5 maybe 8 x 10) colour photography. I have decided to try some Portra 400NC and process myself at home using a COLORTEC C41 Negative Kit 1 litre kit. The processor I use at the moment is a Paterson motorized Orb...
