Re: Lowepro bags and accessories

But I don't think they do specific water bottle holders etc for sliplock.

I'd like to be corrected though :)

Lowepro bags and accessories

Morning all In a couple of weeks I'll be in the UK for various things photographic. On some of my days out, I'd like to be able to walk to places and have something to take a bottle of water and some food in. Can you buy something that will attach to Lowepro rucksacks to do such a thing? I've got a ...

British Journal of Photography Vision 2011

Evening all Back in August I was contacted by the BJP to ask if I would like to attend their Vision 2011 as a speaker. They felt that the work that I have done over the past year may inspire others to get out there and do the same. The event takes place on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 November. If you ...

Re: Hello from the Loire!

Thanks Joanna, I hadn't seen it!

Curiosity, I know this is slipping away from intros. In a couple of weeks, I am in the UK for an "event". Can I post the details somewhere on the board?

Re: Shen Hao - used market

Hmm. May have to think on that one. I'm hedging towards the non-folding one.

Anyone else offer any info on prices?

How about places to buy apart from here or on Ebay? I know of Robert White, Teamwork, Ffordes or Peter Walnes being likely candidates for anything used.

Re: Hello from the Loire!

Thanks for the welcome folks.

I've also added my website into my signature so you can see what I do! You'll see exactly where my photographic influences lie.

Next week, I'd like to get up some new stuff as it's been too long without any image updates.

Shen Hao - used market

Evening all

I know this is basically a "how long is a piece of string" question.

How often do Shen Hao's come up for sale and what sort of price for a used 5x4 camera?

Thanks :D

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

Amazing stuff :) Thanks for all the info folks. I'm still in a quandary as to what I should do. In all honesty, I'm wondering on my original plan of a Shen Hao and a 90mm lens as a starter point. I could easily raise the cash for this with some un-needed stuff at home. Can't remember if I asked this...

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

OK, thanks for all the answers so far. I kind of have something in my head but unsure if it will work! Personally, I love my Hasselblad. However, as mentioned elsewhere I'm starting to see it as basically a bigger SLR. That's where it is now stopping for me. I know that if I were to sell my Hasselbl...

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

When I take out my Hassy, I generally take the three lenses that I have with it: 50mm, 80mm and 150mm.

Being a landscaper, I do tend to shoot wide angle stuff a lot. I know that a 90mm lens is considered a typical wide format lens to have.

With regards to movements, what should I be looking for?

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

Thanks Paul. I do often wonder about my decision. But then I think back to all the cr@p I used to put up with in an office.

Getting back to topic though, I do have some stuff back in the UK that I can stick on Ebay to raise some cash. That'll be a start ;)

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

Well, the big difference between us is that you are getting a more regular income than me. I've gone from being in a regular job to trying to get going as a pro freelancer. In this first year, I have taken a 90% drop in what I was earning in a "normal" job. That is very very hard and there are some ...

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

Oddly enough the HZX45-IIA was what I was looking at. It has the most amount of movements available.

Yes, I would love an Ebony but with things as they currently are, I would have to win the lottery to even contemplate it.

Re: Thinking of jumping into LF

Thanks for this. Well, a couple of thousand is beyond my means at the moment :( My work lies in various areas, but these two are the most prominent: landscape: by far my main interest. I love shooting the wide vistas to picking out details with a long lens. I also love seascapes. Architecture: I lov...

Thinking of jumping into LF

Evening all As I said in my intro, I'm "thinking" about making the leap and wondering if it is worth it. Now, when I bought my Hasselblad I did wonder if I should have instead bought a large format camera instead. When I was talking to Joanna earlier I said I know my photography from A to M. M being...
