As long as the camera's lens shutter has X flash sync you can use fill-in flash, either by manual calculation or some automatic flashguns are quite capable of fill-in flash.
Remember LF lenses are slower & usually need stopping down a little so a good powerful flashgun is essential.

Vanman, I reminded Mirko/Fotoimpex that EU rules mean we can buy from anywhere in the EU, its a totally free market. As it happened I was already buying from Berlin before Nigel Dear (Retro) became their UK affiliate, and Nigel agreed that I had a right to buy from Fotoimpex Germany. In fact my pape...

I can thoroughly recommend Fotoimpex in Berlin, I buy from them every so often and usually place quite large orders. Service is friendly, fast and efficient. Postage is very reasonable to the UK and just as fast.

I'd agree about Black on White, I'd far prefer to use them than Flutots. Fast efficient and very reasonable prices. Yes that's the right company in Balham, I had a quote for a Ross AM lens f16 153mm WA it covers 10x8 and the price was extremely uneconomic. Arax in the Ukraine has been highly recomme...

Balham Optical, London, not sore of their address. But the guy in Ukraine is probably far better, his company rebuilds new Kievs etc and is highly reputable, he can also repolish and multicoat lenses. He appears to be highly recommended. But it depends what lens it is the cost may be more than a goo...

A 210mm is very practical and reasonably priced. 240mm's tend to be more expensive because newer models 60's onwards cover 10"x8". My 210 MC Symmar cost me about £125 last year and is in mint condition it pays to shop around & abroad. It's ideal for portraits. I had 24omm but I'm not sure what happe...

Kentmere POP
A further point about Kentmere's POP.
Production of this paper only started in 1996 after demise of Guilleminot (France) who had begun making POP for the Chicago Albumen Co's in 1988. Guileminot themselves only began manufacture of POP after Kodak dropped its last POP, in 1987.

Much of the demand for POP is in the US, it is the best way for making modern prints off early vintage glass plates. Kentmere make POP to special order for the Chicago Albumen Company, to their formula and specification. Production totally depends on their orders only a very small proportion reaches...

That argument doesnt hold water, after all Hungary is in the EU too :-) More likely the asset strippers who bought Forte wanted too much money. Kentmere are more than capable of producing a paper similar to Polywarmtone if they wanted. The equation also had to include the last major distributors of ...

The secret is to keep looking and be patient. They do come up on ebay, but the best time to buy is when quite a few are listed at the same time. Look across the EU to as postage is reasonable. I bought an as new f8 75mm SA from Italy for about £130 3 months ago, it was still packed in its box, last ...
