Re: Mac iPhoto.
Many thanks for all the help. I have discovered that the pics are still lurking on my hard drive & it is now a matter of sorting how to access them. Dennis.

Re: Mac iPhoto.
Thanks for that. I have just tried it & yes some at least are there & while I can open them from the 'find' page (I don't know what it is really called) they do not appear to be savable to anywhere they can be opened. A very laborious way of getting them I fear since it means trawling thro' lines of...

Re: Mac iPhoto.
I think they are probably not recoverable, by me anyway. I have tried everything I can think of without success. I do have the most important/interesting pics because they have been saved to other programmes for the most part & they still exist. Thanks anyway. Dennis.

Re: Mac iPhoto.
Thanks, but I foolishly do not have back up. They are not in the trash, that has gone as well. I've obviously deleted them somehow, but have no idea how or when. Stable door & all that . . .

Mac iPhoto.
Probably way off beam, but I am mildly miffed. Tried to add a few new digital pics to my iPhoto library today & found that the whole lot had disappeared! OK, they are primarily just diary pics & not of great importance to posterity - I do those on film - but I'd like to get them back if possible, th...

Re: Is this industry really worth it?
Now more or less retired I began freelancing (moonlighting) in the 1950s. Did front of house pics for a couple of semi-pro theatres in London & sold articles on theatre photography to photo mags. Discovered that adding words helped a great deal - lots of photographers, but not a lot who could add so...

O/T B & W laser printer
Not photography, but can anyone recommend an inexpensive - to buy & feed - mono laser printer with wireless access; in another room to computer, & preferably with a small footprint, A4 only. Printing B & W on photo printer seems a waste of money. Thanks. Dennis.

Re: B&W film and ND Grads?
Julian, I personally don't think that filters are so useful for B & W film since it generally has wider latitude & skies can be burned in at the printing stage if you use 'proper' printing. Filters for me are just another thing to remember/decide on so I just have a haze filter and make up the rest ...

Re: Durst Printo (FREE)
My query was just because I wanted to know what it was; not that it was of any great interest to me - so far as I knew! Thanks for the info anyway. Dennis.

I have some sixty year old negs that have been stored all that time at normal room temps in old fashioned glassine envelopes with no apparent ill effects except where they have been touched with contaminated fingers! Dennis.

F.S. Johnson Enlarger Time Switch
Having looked out this switch it may as well be offered for sale. For those who are not old enough to remember these; it is a mechanical switch which is wired into the enlarger to switch off the enlarger lamp after the required time to make the exposure. I've used one for the past c 50 years which m...

Re: Dry mounting
Barry, Thanks for your suggestion - all help. I did know about the correct temperature, what I don't know is how the settings - cotton, linen etc on a domestic iron relate to actual temps. I tried a sample old RC print at 'cotton' & it works, but the emulsion bubbled so I cannot dry mount my RC prin...
