Combiplan 5x4 Developing Tank

Does anyone have any experience in using the combiplan 5x4 developing tank for black and white negatives? I am looking at an easy way of devleoping my own negatives rather than sending them away for processing. I have no experience in developing 5x4 but have developed, dare I say it, 35mm and medium...

Have visited the exhibition last Friday. Many excellent monochrome pictures of some not very promising scenes, particularly likes the shots of Easington.

You will have to hurry if you want to catch the exhibition as it ends in early February

I'm will Ole on this one, a simple dark tee shirt works well for me. I was once advised that an old fleece type top was the ideal solution as it is a bit darker than a tee shirt and therefore better for open landscape shots. It would of course need to have the sleeves removed. Tee shirt can also dou...

Dave, the problem with the book comp is that they are looking for a portfoilio in support of the written submission, about 20-30 images. What say we decide on a subject and go for putting it in a gallery on the site, once there we have something we can promote around mag or book publishers etc. Tha...

I agree with Charles that the forum would benefit from a PR group to publicise its activities Andrews reference to the Best of Friends publications reminded me that the publisher, "AREM" I think, used to publish photographic books by the likes of Kathy Harcom and Dave Butcher, these were based on mo...

Paul

27 Jan is OK for me. Please book me a place.

Are there any suggestions for another location in the vicinity for the following day as this would make more sense to make a weekend of it. Any thoughts or suggestions would be most welcome

Thanks

I am aware that Black and White Photography (from the same stable as OP) have had at least one portfolio from a group of enthusiasts, not large format but those of a similar interest.

Happy to participate if a suitable subject or topic can be found

Retro Photographic Ltd have wholeplate film for sale on their website from around £12.50 for 10 sheets. Looks like they have at least two film speeds for sale. Perhaps the "rush" to whole plate will be for contact prints, bigger than 5x4 but not as bulky as 10x8 and some would say a more pleasing sh...

Whilst not a regular darkroom user over the past year or so I have just fitted out a permanent darkroom and should be able to while away an hour or two knocking out monochrome prints. It's probably the Luddite in me which prefers the traditional print.

Picture seems to glow from the screen. Radiator is distracting but I particularly like the composition especially the fallen petals.

To my eye the colours and tones are very good, autumn really is the best time of the year. I do however find the light branches on the far side of the river distracting particularly the one on the right hand side. Apart from a chain saw not sure what you could have done about it Not sure I should be...
