For critique please?

Here's a portrait taken in Parati, Brazil, about ten years ago. It was close to noon and close to the equator, but clouds in the sky suggest it wasn't beating down, beating down. The film is Ilford FP4+, exposed as labelled. My feeling is that I've nailed the exposure (and I can't do much about the ...

Re: Adox 25 CHS - opinions?

The Adox site does indicate that light piping can be an issue with the 120 and 35mm packages. It suggests that subdued lighting it a good idea when loading and unloading.

I agree about the blue coming out in the wash - the CHS50 does the same and it's quite spectacular!

Re: Adox CHS processing...tank...drum...?

They dried out now; I 'scanned' then by the simple expediency of using the laptop as a light box, shooting them with an Olympus E-400, and inverting the results. The loss of resolution, completely incorrect gamma, vastly reduced dynamic range, and aliasing effects are mere courtesy details. I'll sca...

Re: Adox CHS processing...tank...drum...?

I've just last night developed half a dozen Adox CHS 50 in a combiplan: - 2 minute pre-wash - 10 minutes develop in APH09 40:1 - 2 minutes wash in Tetenal hardener 50:1 (I got my sums wrong; I was aiming for 25:1 - I blame a stinker of a cold) - 4 minutes fix in Adofix at 6:1 - 10 minutes rinse and ...

Re: A stupid Question

Having looked at the price for a box of FP4+ recently, I was a little shocked to discover it was a quid a sheet... mind you, the local Jessops had exactly seventeen packets of film of any type in the store, and no chemistry... B&H have FP4+ at ninety bucks for a box of 100, but I'm not flying in and...

Hi from Hemel in the Hempstead

I've been into photography since I was six (a long time ago; it was in the sixties) and got into large format about twenty-five years ago after working through a number of medium format cameras - favourites being a Mamiya 645 (stolen) and a Reflex Korelle 6x6 (shutter became erratic). Unfortunately ...
