[The Nikon 90mm/f4.5 is excellent too, just heavier, but as both have image circles the same size the slower lens is the cheaper option (unless you enjoy photographing in low light, like some of us) ;) I've dallied with the f/8 idea - purchasing both the Fujinon SW and the Nikkor SW - just to save ...

Hi Thingy,

I use the 410 with an SW45 and the 452 extension back - the 405 is just bigger and heavier...

The extension back on a 45SU - interesting prospect - you're either going really long or really close :)!

Just remember that you need to be able to positively identify one film to envelope relationship!

I have never found a relationship between the ref number on the envelope and the marking on the film border (numbers on envelope, letters on film). There is a relative relationship between the code on the envelope and that on the film. Once you know one relationship in that batch (the first two let...

But tell me Tim, do you think that the CF is less stable than the aluminium one ? Absolutley. You may remember I used to use an 055MF3. The tripod legs simply didn't have the rigidity that an aluminium 055 has. If you had the legs spayed you could push the camera down and watch it rebound and reson...

If you're considering the Manfrotto 055 I'd strongly advise against the carbon fibre models. They simply aren't stable.

I've heard tell that the lighting is very subdued in both exhibitions; and that it can be difficult to appreciate the images fully due to this.

I ruined some very nice shots when I first started shooting LF because I'd not checked that the bellows had unfolded properly; that's something I have to watch out for with the bellows on my SW45, it gave a result very similar to that shown in your link.

Hi Charles,

If memory serves me right there was someone using an old Kodak lens designed for use in aerial weather reconnaisance and getting fisheye effects on 10x8. I didn't save the link, nor can I find it now, but I'll do some digging and see if I can find any more info.

the voices are indeed persistent. " sell your bronica, you havent used it since the 4x5 arrived and get an 8 x 10" I used to get those voices too; but recently I used the bronnie, and it was an absolute joy and charm to use. The voices went away and got replaced with the "Bronnie lenses are really ...

With regard to the Lee filters, with the filters being 150mm long would I be able to get away with using the shaded portion as a ND filter? Where on the filter is the actual graduation, is it slap bang in the centre of the filter or is it slightly offset? Thanks, Chris. Hi Chris, the graduation is ...

They can also re-dip them to compensate for the gradual fading of the dyes over time.
