It is currently UK law that postage services provided directly by Royal Mail are VAT exempt - however those provided by any other supplier are standard-rated. You may not agree with this - but it is the UK law. However (and in this case somewhat ironically), charging VAT on postage is against Europe...

Having just spoken to Joanna it appears that they processed Paul O's film through BPD. I believe Paul was none too pleased with the quality of processing.

I used to use peak myself, and their processing was always absolutely top-notch. My problem is, however the Royal Mail. Even though I always send Special Delivery I'm never happy that my trannies are entrusted to them, so much mail has gone missing for me in the past. Pro2col charged me a fiver to c...

No - it doesn't surprise me, it's obvious that the E6 Market has shrunken drastically over the past 10 years, I've seen a sucession of local labs either close or drop their wet processing side.

I've still got 3 shots left on the roll of new Velvia. I took some shots, then it started raining, and then Archie arrived. But Archie's almost 4 weeks old now and settled, and the rain seems to have stopped a little, so hopefully I'll be able to fire the rest off. Where I'll send them for processin...

pro2col in administration

I've just called pro2col to arrange a collection for some sheets I need processed. Unfortunately they went in to liquidation on Monday and are therefore no longer trading. Looks like it's back to mail order from Peak now :(

Re: Which Tripod?

Also, a suggestion for one of the Lowepro or similar Camera bags would be welcomed. I use a Pro Trekker AWII which I personally find very comfortable, but I'm aware of some people who don't find it so. At an event recently in Calumet in Manchester a friend (who finds his Pro AWII slightly uncomfort...

I was looking at a Manfrotto 055 MF4 at £218.95, according to the spec on Morris Photo site, this Tripod closes down 10cm less than the 055 MF3. The problem that you had is worrying. The Tripod that Joanna mentioned is also available at an expensive £481.95. It seems that the Gitzo Tripods, althoug...

I am also looking at the Manfrotto Carbon Fibre Tripods. http://www.morrisphoto.co.uk/default.html I'd strongly advise against the CF Manfrottos. I used to use one, and came to have serious issues with its stability when supporting an LF camera. Moreover there are some serious design flaws in the l...

What lens are you waiting for Apple? I'm waiting on a 58XL, should have been delivered in week 20 but no sign as yet. I'm informed that Schneider have capacity issues since one of their lens grinding machines broke, and they're having to comission a new one.

New Velvia 50

I've just received a some promo new Velvia 50 from Fuji. Not the box of Quickload I asked for, but a roll of 120. The datasheet looks identical to the old one (reciprocity and all), so it's time to get the Bronnie out and shoot old vs new side by side. The film designatior is still RVP, the notch co...
