Re: Query re JOBO AutoLab 1500
If you have ever seen a jobo tank that can hold a 8 X 10 and seen a atl1500 you will know that the first will never fit in the second.

Re: more chs50 woes
I have good results with Chs100 in D76 1+1, rodinal 1+25, Pyrocat-MC 6+4+300 and FX-37 1+3. Maybe a highly diluted developer is not a good match with Chs film.

Re: E6 developing - lines on film
I would also go for this explanation. My guess is that I may have been a bit slow getting the drum on for the first developer, but does anyone have any other suggestions?
Maybe you could try a prewash next time.

Before thinking Camera try to find what makes the landscape special for you. Feel your way in. Take your time. After a while allow your self to think "images" not camera. When you are convinced you need a camera it is time to get it. This year it took me 4 days before i took the first picture on the...

A Fujinon T 1:8/ 300mm needs 290mm bellows extension to focus 1,4 m from the lens. Other telephoto designs will do similar tricks.

Re: scanning colour negatives, how?
Gary: Very interesting method, thanks for the info! I'm curious on your developing, what chemicals do you use? Are you just using the dev one shot and re-using bleach, fix and stabiliser? I'd like to the same but am not sure where to buy just the dev as they are typically in 5L kits. I use Fuji - H...

Re: scanning colour negatives, how?
My method is a more quick and dirty one. That's because I have more fun in the dark room. I try to buy film in a reasonable quantity of a same emulsion number. A do my own C41 with one shot chemistry. So I get a constant color balance. The first photo I take with a new film is one similar with the o...

Very informative to see what is possible with various scanners. Now I can determine if my own scans are subject to improvement ore it's just the limitation of my hardware. Thanks !

Re: Scanning and levels
I do not know if it will help you but most drumscanner software actually controls the analog digital conversion. Resulting in a nice histogram. The software from imacon appears to do something similar. But if it is possible to really control a CCD that way I am not sure. And maybe it is a post digit...

Re: Recommended 4x5 Film holders?
Once I tested 60 4 x 5 film holders, linhof, fidelity, toyo, arca swiss, sinar, grafmatic, with a laser micrometer. About 45 where within ± 0,2 mm tolerance. The other 15 where up to 0,6 mm of. Strangely 5 of them where arca swiss examples. The other ones where equal shared.
