Re: WTB Toyo 4x5 110mm Lens Board for Copal #0
Hi Martin
Colin Myers over on the LFPF is clearing out his Canham kit (or so it seems) and may have a suitable one, as you probably know Canham boards are exactly the same size as the Toyo ones

Re: WTB lenses for 5x7
or alternatively....................... if the use of a shutter "is a deal breaker".................... why not take one of your existing shutters and attach a brass lens to it, works just fine, mebbe not the purist way of doing things but just as good - shutter can go either at the lens hood end or...

Re: WTB lenses for 5x7
Hi Gareth well, we're all after cheap lenses, aren't we....................................  the truth is, is that unless they're pretty knackered, then they're not cheap at all ...................and even at the Camera Fairs, there's scant about unless it's 35mm/mf stuff when you say 'vi...

Re: National Portrait Gallery
I can't say I've ever tried to do portraits but it's amazing how little depth of field you have with something like an 600mm F9 Apo Ronnar shot at near 1:1 I'm usually doing scarey things with tilt in the 20 to 30 degree range to get more in focus. Process lenses like the 600mm Apo Ronars and Apo N...

Re: RIP
I haven't been on-site for a month and whilst I have noticed activity tailing off significantly in the last 12 months I was surprised by this thread. I wasn't aware of the unpleasant event to which you refer. Whilst disappointed, I'm not too surprised though ..... I was the recipient of unwarranted...

A lot of activity lately for a forum supposed dead. If a funeral is too lively, the bemoaned might not be dead after all ;-) Best regards and a happy new year, Martin well Martin ................all that's really necessary to resurrect this, is for some interesting 'non-flaming' threads to be creat...

Re: Import VAT and duty
Scott I've had 'experience' of this (over the years) in buying from the US and Can Import duty/VAT is 'hard to avoid' and then we have (as mentioned) the irritating forced handling charges at this end and as you may know, shipping to here from the US isn't cheap. Unless of course that you have a 'ta...

Re: Contact Printing without darkroom - options ?
thx Dave seems to me that if you go down the 10 x 8 route, then using a 11 x 14 frame, will give you a large enough surround if you wanted to then immediately frame these whole plate film was available at the last Ilford annual printing run, no reason why your 10 x 8 images couldn't be cropped down ...

Re: Contact Printing without darkroom - options ?
Dave I would have said 'contact printing by sunlight', but..............errr........................ difficult to find contact printing holders in the UK..........to cover 10 x 8, presumably they should be at least 10 x 12, although the excellent Bostick & Sullivan have them in the 11 x 14 size and ...
