Re: Envelope System for Quickload, ReadyLoad, Polaroid Holders

This sounds like a very interesting potential product and I am very interested in seeing it being produced and would almost certainly use it. As someone who has happily been shooting 'A sheets' using DDS and 'B sheets' with QL for several years, I see no discernible difference in the dust from each ...

Well the guys at Photoworks in Bournemouth have shut their E6 processing. What about that outfit that David W uses? I'm sorry, I've rather lost the plot on who does a good job. Recollect that BPD who do the cibas ship theirs out to someone else, Genesis in London were laughably expensive when I look...

Tim - look at the colour of the Fujifilm data in the rebate. I found great inconsistency in this from Peak, from a pale amber to a deep reddish version... Compare the RAP with the RVP and also from previous batches. As Joanna says, it's all the pH of the colour developer which affects this. I try to...

there's always the option of front rise.... Well, except for my 75mm lens which has a tiny image-circle but I use that so rarely that it's largely irrelevant. Hi Julian Something I discovered as a workaround in a similar situation to gain more height for my viewpoint, is to use rear rise at same ti...

I didn't even know about the wide angle Ebony Fresnel until Mr Cornish mentioned it. He was kind enough to loan me his for a couple of weeks, it makes such a difference that I bought one. I've now had mine over 2 years and use it for the 80mm and 58mm lenses. The darkening of the standard sceen is v...

I have the 80mm SSXL and soon found that I needed to add the centre filter (CF) if anything more than the slightest camera movement is being deployed for E6 film. With the CF, it soon gains size! This also necessitates the push-on Lee Filter holder with donut spacer. Another expense.... Previously I...

A truly excellent lens.

Robert White will also have a list. Go on, you know it makes sense - Order and buy British! For their last consignment of 3, one went to Zurich, one to Tokyo and one to Lymington.

Price will only go up.''

Robert White are to blame! I bought the RSW blind as it were from the first batch as my first 5x4 (having borrowed the Gandolfi from my father-in-law). Then I went on the first L&L LF workshop and borrowed the SU having broken my RSW 10 days prior. It was like letting the handbrake off. The then ext...

Gandolfi traditional 5x4 For: Looks gorgeous Fantastic craftsmanship Against: Slow to set up and no neutral indents dark ground glass Which is why I always use my Ebony 45SU where all of these points are positive and you gain the unfair advantage of asymmetric movements! The Ebony RSW45 is a good ca...

Yes you have to adjust the pH of the colour developer bath to get correct colour balance. The proper way to do this is using expensive E6 process strips. A more empirical set-up works fine, once you have the right pH. For my set-up it is pH 12.2 using Fuji-Hunt chemistry and it recollect was similar...

Strongly suggest you visit APUG or specialist film sites like 'digital truth' and 'unblinking eye' for times with the developer you intend to use for each or all of these film types. This project, whilst new to you, has been researched thoroughly and reported on the web. There are many ways to do it...

There was a thread on LF forum a short while ago about metered light. Chap there seemed to know the producers. I expressed interest on behalf of their size as a backup for my Pentax, but don't really think they are probably such a good product. I wanted something cheaper than another Pentax as a com...

I adore the Gitzo leg GLock things, they're great, the levelling centre column is marvelous, but they all have a show stopper. The leg angle lock device is just *awful*, and just totally ruins the tripods. It looks flimsy, you have to try to wedge your fingers in and pull it out ( on a cold day wit...

I've seen the Blackjacket in use and users like them. I think that it has too much sail area to be left attached to the back of the camera in windy conditions. For several years, I used a v-neck stretchable Helly-Hansen fleece with the sleeves chopped off and plastic poppers on neck removed. Far les...

Paul I too used a combi-plan tank for ages. Initially I couldn't get on with it, persisted and ended up very happy with using it. Always went for 6 sheets and had no bother. Yes it does take ages to fill. BUt fill and empty from the top, this evens out development time. I used pre-soak and range of ...
