processing 5 x 4 in patterson tank

Hi - 5x4 users may be interested in this item on eBay 130401338611 - it is a device to enable processing up to 12 5x4 sheets in a Patterson 3-reel tank. Hopefully the seller will check for uneven development etc. The seller claims the item is made to order so the price should be stable eventually. H...

Jobo CPE2 - Gone

Sorry its Gone to a new home in Devon... I have a Jobo CPE2 unit to get rid of: It last worked a year ago, I will test it out in the next day or so. There are no measuring cylinders with it, the solution bottles are rather grubby and the drive magnet has become unstuck from the motor. I think I stil...

Re: Another one on the Jobo CPx bandwagon

Don't waste time or money on the loader - I find it easier to load the spiral by hand. If purchasing a 5x4 spiral make sure it is the later 2509N spiral the earlier spirals suffered from uneven development and film escaping from the spiral. While you can purchase tanks and lids cogged or magnetic fr...

Re: Scanning and levels

I have wondered about this... I think that the scanner, (mine is an Epson 4990) reads from the brightest part of the scan area and the darkest to set itself up for the scan. The Epson 4990 claims its DMax is around 4 (from memory). I didn't like the software supplied with it so I use Vuescan. I thin...

Re: Film Changing tent recommendations and Paramo.

I have a Calumet change tent. It is fine for 5 x 4 loading film and tanks of all types. I found that I needed to place it on a table or bench that is the right height for me. I sit on a chair and have the tent on a bed. If I have the tent on a (dining room) table it is too high and uncomfortable to ...

Re: WTB: Jobo 2509n 4x5" reel

I've been watching the auction site for the last few months for one of these reels and they seem to go for more than the new price - the last one I was watching went for around £65.00 - and that was the older difficult to load version. I suggest buying a new one, cheaper in the long run (apart from ...

atl 1000 problem yet again...

Hi - I have just processed three batches of B&W film in the Atl 1000. First set of films cam out OK! so whoop whoop processed the next lot and the processor missed out the fix - I did hear that no fix was poured out after the 6 minutes so quickly removed the tank and filled it with pre-mixed fixer s...

More Jobo Atl 1000 Questions...

Hi - I am just about to process my first lot of negatives using my recently acquired Atl 1000. The first process will be 5 x 4 in Retro's Pyro, I am fairly confident doing this. I have been practising loading film into spirals instead of going outside in the cold to throw snowballs  The next ...
